Hey,

I have a problem with the windows taskbar since (I think) the latest major Windows 10 update about a week ago: When I switch to “Windowed Fullscreen” mode the taskbar will stay above the game. Quick workaround is to make it hide automatically, but that’s pretty annoying, so please fix it (or help me fix it on my side).

Thanks,
Shrugal

That’s almost certainly an issue with windows or a setting in windows. Try using the “auto hide” option for the taskbar (available via right-clicking). Sometimes just toggling it on then off (or vice versa) “fixes” whatever taskbar anomalies you might encounter.

As I said that’s the first thing I tried, but sadly it doesn’t fix the problem permanently. The taskbar pops up over my skillbar whenever the mice comes to close to the bottom of the screen and when I switch the taskbar back to always show the problem is still there.

I’m having the same problem. It’s really annoying. Did anyone ever find a permanent fix?

There is none yet, but the common element seems to be running some sort of overlay like “gw2pao” or something. I’m guessing that it adds a window that triggers the “not a fullscreen window” magic in Win10, and bam, that shows back up.

Which is sad, but at least it might be a work-around for y’all. Otherwise, genuine fullscreen should work fine, or place your overlay on the second monitor instead of the one GW2 fullscreen-windowed is running on.
