When wooden chests were introduced, any time one would spawn I could swear I didn’t get anything from them and they’d just disappear as soon as I tried to loot them. Mostly, I chalked it up to getting bugged blue or white loot out of them and not noticing it which I saw some people reporting as the case so I figured I’d wait for the patch. But after yesterday’s patch that said only yellows and rarer would be in wooden chests, I still got nothing. I was in W3 and a chest spawned along with a normal loot bag so I looted a white and a blue form the bag, toggled for the chest, and it disappeared. A teammate mentioned maybe I was seeing one of their chests for some reason but no one got a rare or better out of that fight. It makes me sad to see these popping up and seem like I’m not getting anything nice from them. Am I crazy?

Fixed a bug that caused loot chests to spawn incorrectly during group play. Loot chests are now created for items of rarity “rare” and above.

Location : Godslore supply camp wvwvw -blue borderland, i attacked supply camp
Monster: some centaur attacking camp
Chest : wooden chest
Loot : 2 hooves (trohpy -common rarity)

Yea it happened me aswell in wvw

An update… I think we’ve figured something out about this. When you drop a yak in W3 and it gives you 5 supply, a chest will appear momentarily. That could explain some of the times it has happened to me where it didn’t seem like I got anything from a chest and I was in a supply camp.

I keep getting chests for slabs of red meat … definitely not a rare quality item.

Hi Jason I have also encountered this issue in PvE in Malchor’s Leap doing an event near where all the sparks spawn. I assumed that the wooden chest only held a few items in it and it was a first come first serve sort of thing? Could you confirm this because I haven’t received any drops from it either..

Wait a minute… Then why are our corpses forced to stare at lootbags when the mechanic is already there to send the loot+badges automatically to our inventory as soon as we defeat an opponent?

The rare supply boost given from enemy dolyaks has long since been buggy. If you have 11-15 supply, you will drop to 10 supply.

I don’t get any items from a dolyak chest at all but I do get auto looted supply.

I imagine that, when you press the action button [default F] to loot while auto loot is enabled, instead of seeing the supply “item”, you see nothing (in your inventory or in the bottom right of your screen), thus giving the illusion that you gained nothing, even though you did actually consume the supply “item”. This is because the supply “item” is automatically consumed on pick up.

The supply bundle consumable item in WvW is a rare item and can be received in a wooden chest. So…if you have auto-loot on, you won’t see the item consumed (because it’s done automatically), and it seems like you didn’t get anything.

A simple animation would be a good solution to players not noticing this; something like the one that draws attention to the guild icon at the top of the screen when a new guild buff is activated.

supply dolyaks drop wooden chest when you kill them, this chest simply gives u 5 supply. working as intended

I had always assumed the chest was for another player and containing the yellow, and that my blue/white/grey loot simply happened to be on the same spot.
