So, I crafted my Legendary few days ago, I didn’t have the gold for listing fee yet but now I have and it doesn’t let me put this item on the Trading Post. It also doesn’t let me “mail item to..” or “buy more from the trading post” when right clicking it. It is not been soulbound to any character, I kept it in my bank once I crafted it.

I did not equip it, description is still “Soulbound on use”
I do not have it in an invisible bag when I try anything.
I tried re-logging and all that jazz.
I tried putting it on TP with different Characters.
I only get “equip, preview & destroy”

In short; it is acting like it is an account bound item even though it shouldn’t be.
Can I get some help please?

edit; So apparently my Legendary bugged out and lost his sigil.
and because every Legendary has a sigil by default the game doesn’t recognize mine anymore?

did you put a sigil in there?.. cus that will make it soulbound..

Nope, been in my bank since creation.
I didn’t modify it in any way, shape or form. It’s also still “soulbound on equip” and I can move it to other characters through my bank.

If it is still in your bank when you try to sell it, that is the problem.
It has to be in your inventory to sell it.
This might be a stupid answer but its all I can think of.

No, in fact I got the precursor as last and immediately made the Legendary when I got it.

So apparently when you craft a Legendary they have a default Sigil in them aaaaand…….. my Howler has none?

I am pretty sure now that the sigil is the cause for my Howler to bug out, when I hold my mouse on it, it shows an empty upgrading slot and when I link it, it does show the sigil of accuracy.

My guildmate suggested to npc it and buy it back from NPC if that would fix it but it doesn’t even show up there in the sell list.

Yeah that is definitely a bug. It should come with a Superior Sigil of Accuracy in it, and there’s definitely no way to remove a sigil without destroying the item you got it from. Definitely get someone from ANet to look at this.

Yeah, I hope a developer acknowledges this bug and can get it fixed cause it feel like I lost all my gold and 1000+ hours of playtime

What is this “far more interesting theory”? I could do with a good story cause I have nothing better to do now… :P

Both times I’ve attempted to post my “theory”, I’ve encounted an error and my post has not appeared. So, at this point, I’m just going to sit here and wonder about strange coincidences that make you go hmmmm.

I wonder if this gets fixed or not though … assuming developers read all these threads or they just pick out what’s on their priority list?

A reply isn’t a must but it would be nice to know how long it might take to fix.

If you want a personal reply, I recommend you contact support. If this has happened before, they will be able to check if there’s a work-around. If it’s the first time they have seen it, they will be able to get the dev team’s attention and, if the stars align, offer you a solution.

If I recall correctly, ANet doesn’t currently have the tools to adjust a player’s inventory (for all sorts of good …and bad… reasons), so if there’s a “special” bug, they might not have a good solution for you.

Should that be the case, you can ask your ticket to be escalated. People I know who have politely stated their case and asked respectfully for assistance have reported good results.

PS Devs read a lot of forum posts (and the moderators forward even more), but they don’t typically respond to most. They tend to reply when they need more information or if they know the issue and have scheduled a resolution.

tl;dr support is your best resource for troubleshooting this.

I have a Howler, and it have the same problem…
In this patch(2/26), still not fix yet…

Yes, the sigil is back in place (on the mouse over thing) but no, it didn’t fix the problem.

It still only gives me the 3 options; equip, preview, destroy.
And not the; mail to.., sell on or buy more from trading post.

As stated in the patch notes, the Howler got fixed.

The problem is, that it is only for newly made ones (I guess) and the already existing ones didn’t get fixed at all. I send in a support ticket about it and the reply was;

“I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’ve been having with your Howler. It appears the issue you reported was not exclusive to your character and was an issue regarding the item itself. After an extensive investigation, the developers determined they might have found a fix to prevent the item from binding and were able to implement it with a small update. However, I’d be unable to say if they were able to retroactively resolve the issue for items that were already affected. If you continue to have issues with this item, if you already haven’t done so, feel free to add another post to your forum thread to let them know. "

So my question would be;
Is there going to be a solution for me? (or anyone that already made it before the patch)

Obviously I could come up with ideas like “give me a different howler” or “give me the 4 end ingredients to create a new one” but that’s not for me to decide.

Any developer around that can say “if they were able to retroactively resolve the issue for items that were already affected”?

I received a reply to my ticket stating they couldn’t “fix” the already effected items so they offered me to give me a new howler if I destroyed my current one first. After destroying it, posting the time when I destroyed it (even made a video just in case) in my ticket and some hours waiting I received a new one.

Thank you CS, developers & Jason/LR-team for helping out.
