Wrong mission after Fort Trinity?
As far as I know… Nope.
In fact, I think the devs couldn’t alter you’re account info in any way to reset you onto the path you wanted even if they wanted to.
Really? That… that kind of sucks. And doesn’t really make sense? Story-wise, I mean. Why would my character suddenly jump from needing to rescue an ally to confronting some stranger he’s never even heard of?
I really hope the higher-ups can throw me a bone here. I’d gladly lose the experience and the gloves—I’ll even do Fort Trinity over again if I have to.
Sorry for the second post, just giving an update.
My friend and I are gonna just keep going through the story tonight, so I’ve basically accepted that I’m screwed out of the mission. It’s been months since I did the personal story, so I’d forgotten that this was apparently a risk (or didn’t know, either way). I’ll just choose the Apatia line with a different character later, unless the higher-ups manage to figure something out (though, from Foefaller’s response, I’d wager it’s out of their hands).
If I could give a suggestion, though, would it be possible to add in a warning window when provided the choice to “progress” after a mission? Like a second box that warns the player the quest they’re about to progress to isn’t originally in their tree. Not everyone knows the mission names—had I known the difference, I never would have even considered pressing the button to progress. Maybe I’m just a fool, but I doubt I’m the lone fool.
Regardless of this bump in the road, I still want to thank ArenaNet for the amazing experience overall! Keep up the good work.
You will be placed back on your track at the next branch, as long as you don’t accept a different track by playing with someone else in that story episode/mission. At least, there is that.
You can read the Dev responses about this issue, here in this sub-forum a few pages back (or less).
Good luck.
