For the past few days I’ve been trying to do the Triple Trouble achievement “Wurm Bait” in which you must kill a Risen Abomination to get the achievement. However, it never gives me the achievement, and I’ve done it multiple times!

To get that, you have to kill the giant Plague Carrier Abomination that spawns towards the end of the Amber Escort, and then you have to stand in its corpse to get the Wurm Attractant.

I stood in its corpse until it de-spawned.

This bug is still very much present, it can take many attempts for this achieve. From what people are saying if anyone uses cc on the abominaion it can cause the achive to not work and apperently its a thing now to do this in order to troll other players

Just wanted to mention that this bug is still an issue. I tried to get the achievement today, and stood right next to the abomination as it died, but didn’t get it.

I’ve had the same problem, tried it twice today, still no achievement…

I have tried this multiple times as well and it is VERY frustrating. I don’t mind seeking out achievements and mastery points, but when the basic mechanic to let you get the achievement is broken it makes the game far less fun and much more of a grind.

Please fix this!

This achievement is still bugged as of yesterday. I nor anyone in my party got the achievement despite standing inside the abom’s corpse until it despawned. This is the only achievement I’m missing from the Triple Trouble meta and it’s been exceedingly frustrating. I’ve tried on organized maps and empty maps. I’ve not used CC (a common thing I’ve heard that can trigger, or rather, not trigger the achievement). Nothing works.

Please, Anet, please look into fixing this.

Confirm that it’s still bugged today.

I’ve tried 10 times in the last 3 weeks and still haven’t received the achievement. The guys dies and I try to soak up all of his wurm bait juice but I get nothing in return.

I figured out how to get the achievement by doing it wrong, then doing it right.

The trick seems to be kill the abomination LAST.

Kill all of the other creatures in the spawn first before the abomination dies.

I ran TT twice at once (had a guild restart it after Cobalt escort failed), so I had the chance to run the escort literally twice in a few minutes. I noticed the spawn, and the abomination, and saw the abomination go down quickly – and do nothing. Then the rest of the spawn was killed, and still nothing.

When we ran it again, I figured it may be an order of operations kind of thing, and no one has said anything about how quickly (or not) the abomination was killed. So I suggested to the Amber escort to kill it last. They agreed, followed through, and all of us who needed the Wurm Bait achievement got it on that run.

Give it a shot. It may be that it’s not bugged, but simply needs to be done right.

i am up to my 5th attempt. asking a small group nicely to kill him last, i get zero help. twice i have been in large groups where everyone was told what to do. this is the last one i need for the TT. i am not confident it can be achieved at this point.
