After the patch today I noticed the entire Zodiac weapon set was missing from the BL ticket merchant, was this removed today or have I not been keeping up with the BL Weapon sets lately?

Please reconsider adding more vendor tabs to the Black Lion Specialist to keep all sets available, they are staying in the game data anyways.

It would upset me greatly if fused skins returned for 1 ticket each, since just spent 850g on a greatsword :-I My personal interests aside, I think it’s not good for the economy to randomly play with removing, readding & repricing BL weapon skins.

My only request is that sets that are removed, do come back at some point eventually. Sets like the fused and aetherized sets are impossible to complete for new players due to some skins no longer being available or prices just being outrageous.

Oh, I’m so happy to read this.

You’re happy to read a logical fallacy, i.e. substituting an emotional response in place of a valid or compelling argument against adding more vendor tabs to keep all sets available? As someone who is (was?) saving claim tickets for Zodiac skins, I’m not happy hearing they’re gone- but I’d be comforted knowing they’ll reappear at some point in the future. The prices on the TP are a little above what I’ll pay right now.

Well since the game is software and thus not limited by something like shelf space no reason not to have more tabs (unless some programmer somewhere didn’t think ahead while coding tab functionality…).
I’d be happy if they reintroduced these items as skin obtainable in the game itself… by playing the game I mean. Probably make people like Sina.9208 unhappy, but it would make me happy, and doesn’t that count for something? :P

Didn’t you used to give notice before removing a set from the merchant? The past few times there’s been no notice of sets being removed, which is probably what bugs people.

Why for? It still won’t address the removed skins problem. Even if you return them randomly, it’s still not something i can plan for. And in the meantime the prices go up to ridiculous levels.

Yeah. Removing skins may be good for Anet (this pushes some people to buy skins in case they disappear, and make othes buy them to invest and later sell them for 10x more), but it is bad for players (with the sole exception of a tiny minority of TP players that prey on the rest of community, perhaps).

Since gw2 release Anet had and still has one ongoing way about BL chest weapons and the economic. And it is a great one!

They put skins in BL chests, everyone can and will buy/get them if possible. To have a stable value for these items they change them every 2-6 weeks (I don’t recall if it ever took longer then 6 weeks). For this cause they let them be available for 2 or later 5 tickets. After a while they remove them to put new ones in or to make older ones available.

This works like this since over a year now and it is a good system. Skins from before that time like the fused ones are crazy expensive and I’m sure that these will be cheaper available (maybe 2 tickets) at some point.

This system is great:
- If you play constantly, just get the skins as soon as they are available for the first time.
- If you have some money, buy more of these skins, wait ~5-6 month and sell them again and you made alot money with no effort.
- If you have no money and want to get one skin, then you have to farm. If it takes you 2-3 month or more to farm you luckily can buy them from the tp with a low increase in price. (which is totally fair)
- If you haven’t played at the time the BL skins where introduced, but you really want a skin → Buy it from tp, luckily for you traders at release time bought it just for you!
- If you want a skin really bad and don’t want to buy it for gold, then just farm BL chests. If you have 5 claim tickets I can assure you that your beloved skin will be available again for at least this price (or even less). (But who knows if you have to wait weeks or years for that!)

Only cons with this system are:
- Very rich player or new ones that think that 500g+ for one BL skin is a solid investment in the future (month or years). Well they will getkitten#8212;-d at some point, currently that happened with chaos and tormented weapons. I really like this part, because I traded with them too and made alot of money, but it was clear (if you listened to anet and looked at gw2 past) that more then 200g for these items won’t hold for long.
- If you want to get the achievements, it is still way to expensive to get the older ones and probably not possible for even one player to get all. One set costs at least 900g after it’s release, most cost even then more. The old ones are currently 15000g or more? (→ of course they will be available cheaper again! Even legendary are cheaper)
