Guild Wars 2

My brother can’t send me any ingame mail, while I still can send him stuff. It doesn’t matter whether he adds stuff or not.
He’s not on my ignore list (in the contacts window) and we can /w without any problems.

the only reason I can imagine for this:
When I got another annoying gold-farming spammail I went to my mailfolder and reported them all. They all had no title and I clicked through them.
Unfortunately, a test mail from my brother was inbetween and I think I’ve reported him too.

I didn’t see any un-report function or the like, and just hoped one report wouldn’t have any impact, as he didn’t spam at all, which every gm investigating the false report would see. but, apparently it did have an impact – I can’t get any mail from him (item he sends just vanish).

Is there anything I can do to fix this or is there some proble which has nothing to do with me (stupidly) reporting?

If someone from the support staff stumbles over this: the account name of my brother begins with Hav and is in my (rather short) friendlist. Full name can be sent per PM if requested.

I hardly believe at all that support is going to have a look at the forums as they have a lot of work with tickets. But you should be patient as hacks and stuff are prior

Anet won’t block in-game mail based on the report of one player without first investigating it first, imo.

Have you checked to see how full your inbox is? It will only hold 10 items from other players so if your inbox is full, delete what you can and you should start receiving his mail that is probably waiting in queue to be delivered.

yes, I’m at 9/10 (I only found the problem when I asked my brother to send another mail, so I get the mailbox full message, as I’m a bit of an achievment farmer, even if it doesn’t give points)

I wasn’t actually sure whether the mail problem was a result of my accidental report or not and your answer confirms my suspicion. I’ll create a ticket – it’s not urgent but still a bit annoying.

update: I was stupid. before sending the report, I’ve tested it again. I’ve assumed 9/10 means, I can still get one more mail. but apparently thats a display bug. Once I deleted a mail, another one got in.. and another.. and so forth (mostly gold spammers), until I received the missing mails.

so all is well, I’ve just let myself be confused by a minor display bug =)
