achievement bug
wow not one bit of help with this issue
… i got on my main character and checked how much i needed for it and i was at 173 areas already …
this statements is so wrong, your achievement page shows total areas explored by your account, so there might have been your other character who already explored that area. there is no indication for individual character, you can check only hearts/vistas/pois/wps progress for character when you open map
you don’t need ‘areas’ for world exploration rewards
all you need are: hearts, vistas, pois and waypoints
hovering over region names in map, will show you progress inside them, so basically you need to find only maps where its not 100%
there is exception – order of whispers instance – which has its own map completion chest
P.S. don’t forget WvW maps counts toward world exploration too
the achievement page will show how many areas you have explored in a region and i found the issue a few minutes ago all i did was exit the area and run back to them on foot a second time and the problem was solved and you do need the areas for each regions own achie i was mistaken about the forge ingredient
The Explorer Achievement(s) and World Map Completion are two separate and different achievements.
Explorer Achievement(s) award APs (and are account-wide) for the 5 different land mass areas (Kryta, Shiverpeaks, Orr, Maguuma, Ascalon) and World Map Completion (and is character-wide) awards the title Been There, Done That, a star, and 2 Gifts of Exploration needed to create a Legendary weapon.
The two areas you found may not be those needed to move your count up from 173 to 175. The best way to find missing areas is to use a map, (from, for instance, the wiki) and compare the listed areas, one by one, side by side.
