ascended gear transmutation not possible
You need to first select a piece of gear from the chest. Then put it in the mystic forge with the other 3 items needed. Sometimes you have to force things into the forge by dragging it from your inventory to get it to go in.
Do you have any ascended item received as a reward from AN ? If not there is no point for making any comments on this topic.
There is no debate on what i can do differently.
Mystic forget doesn’t recognize the item as usable(in my case head armor). That’s all.
If it isn’t intended, so it is a bug.

This is a public forum and the devs will sometimes respond to posts, if you want a specific response use the support link at the top of the page.
Andraus was trying to help you, and while it seems like it will be pointless to offer you help I will anyway.
If the item you received was an “Ascended Chest of Head Armor” then it is just a container. All ascended armor and weapons drop in a chest “container”. You have to then double-click on the chest and it will open a window with a few different stat selections. If the stat you want is there then you choose it and your done. If the stats you want is not there, then you can just pick any one of them and then use the mystic forge recipe to change it to the one you want.

Yeah I have like 40 boxes man. Anyway good luck.
OMG really another talk about containers ? I sad in second post “in my case head armor” U should know that “head armor” is no more a container. Instead, it is item received from container. EOT
Now about 40 boxes man! You just don’t know what i’m talking about. You most likely didn’t receive even one of those boxes from AN email.

1. Transmutation in GW2 is changing the skin of an item, not its stats.
2. Did you have to choose stats for the Ascended item you got? If you haven’t chosen any stats yet, I don’t think you’ll be able to drop it in the forge for anything.
3. Could you post a screenshot of your item in your inventory?

If you’ve only attempted this once (or not logged out before retrying), log out and re-attempt to convert the stats. Sometimes the forge will randomly fail to recognize items, or act as if you don’t have a valid recipe put into the slots. I’ve had this happen multiple times making various legendary weapon gifts in the forge. Logging out and back in has always fixed it.

Honestly, the solution to your problem is most likely that you overlooked something simple but necessary, or you simply need to do a relog and try again. But you won’t provide a screenshot so that we (the only people who are likely to reply to this post) can help you out. And you’ve been nothing but hostile towards others who tried to help you. So yeah, you might as well just shut down the thread and submit an actual support ticket (bug reports and forum posts aren’t support tickets).
The mystic forge doesn’t see items a lot. I just had that happen to me last week. I already explained how to fix that. I’m sure that is what the issue is. The box itself may have been different since it was coming from Anet directly but I highly doubt the armor piece coming out of the Box would be specially coded.
So go to your inventory and drag the piece into the forge.

And/or try a different order. The MF can be finicky, at times.
(Likely, OP tried some of the suggestions, and it worked out, but we may never hear about it.)
