Not sure but I heard that it can be Glinch's egg you are carrying. It depends on what part of LS you are. Someone else could confirm that though, I just heard about it around here.

The cutscene/dialogue just before you got it explained what it was, why it is on your back and what you need to do with it. If you skipped the scene/didn’t read the dialogue, check your story panel to see if it says it in there.
