This happens several time to me:

Enter Dragons stand, join a squad.
After dying I’m alone with a few poeple on an empty map.
Cant join my squad, because world is full.

occured the last 2-3 times

Event doesnt work for me

Not enough description here. Where you on the map with the people in that squad. then died. you did NOT disconnect and the game put you in a different map? Seems pretty impossible. Most likely you are just crashing/disconnecting and when you relog it puts you in a difference instance because the one you left is full.

Maybe when they waypointed after dying, it moved them to a new map instance because the map thought it was past its player cap?

I join a squad, video, all are dying, port to north pact wp … all players are gone to different map

But why a different map instance?

Nagiil.1230, this appears to be a variation of the same bug that I have experienced, although your variation is not one I have personally experienced. There appears to be a lot of reports that may have a similar root problem, after someone has lost connection with the correct instance (although that can be caused by lots of different things).

Presumably, after you find yourself in the wrong instance and try use the “Join in Dragon’s Stand” option on an online squad member, you get this:

Network Error.
Please check your Internet connection and try again.
(Code=178:9:13:2932:101)

Please check out the thread containing my report here (although I add other information here for completeness).

I can suppose that there is a problem with the server managing instance data specifically for players on the Dragon’s Stand map so if anything happens that causes them to loose connection with that instance, then it is currently impossible to rejoin it. Can anyone else confirm or deny this? (i.e. have you seen this behaviour on ANY other GW2 map?).

Although, in your case, it is possible that the server instance became full, between you dying and finding yourself in the wrong instance and trying to re-join the correct one using the “Join in Dragon’s Stand” option, in the case of the problem documented in the other thread, this very unlikely the map is actually full near, or at the end, of the event.

I am guessing here, but perhaps they have some sort of flag set on the Dragon’s Stand instance, perhaps after a certain time of the events running, or after completion of certain sub-events that blocks ALL re-connections to that instance, even though on a “normal” map the server allows a disconnected player with a valid instance ID to reconnect? Or is that wild speculation?

At the very least, it would be very nice if ArenaNet could confirm what the intended behaviour is meant to be? If they really are preventing re-connections to a lost instance, then why?

I could understand them not wanting players to join an “organised Dragon’s Stand” map, 2 hours into the event, using a “taxi” to a squad found via LFG or messaging. It stands to reason that NEW players should not be allowed to join a few minutes from the end of the event, or during the 15 minutes after completion, to obtain the rewards with little or no effort put in? If so, should not this be prevented by disabling new squad joining? (gated by flag for sub-event progress, or time the instance has been running?)?

In summary, could ArenaNet very kindly please confirm:

1) Is Dragon’s Stand map instancing handled differently from any other GW2 map and if so, is rejoining the instance, after being disconnected from it actually disabled?

2) Is there a good reason (or at least a confirmed technical limitation) as to why instance data for a connected player be discarded immediately (or at lease within 5 minutes), if they leave the instance (preventing them from re-joining it)?

3) Are they willing to look into the issue and try to find a solution, as at the moment the issue is causing a LOT of player discontent when they cannot rejoin the instance of an active event (often after 2 hours + participation).

I hope that I have been clear enough on what I have written and correctly identified the possible root problem? I will attach composite snapshot here for clarity.
