hi there,
love the new client, i never crash now, that’s the good news.
But since i’ve got a 3d screen, i wanted to try mordremoth in 3d, to add more epicness to the fight. Actually, it doesn’t work at all.
With 32 bits client, 3d works perfectly, and it’s a pleasure to glide and to “feel” the deep, but i crash every 5 minutes. Stavemaster Adryn whirlwind portal thingy look very good in 3d, it almost worth to jump inside on purpose, now i want to see mordremoth mouth, ready to devour those island

Great Scott!!! I thought it was 2015 and everyone was over gimmicky 3D gaming/movies.

Guess I must have been sent back in time on the 21st of October 2015.

I hope there’s a DeLorean on craigslist….

I have no clue what exactly that 3D stuff is, but if you need a special software with
game profiles for it you have maybe to create a new profile for the new gw2-64.exe
or maybe it helps renaming it just to gw2.exe

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Thanks for the info. I had the same problem. After switching back to 2D I missed every jump and miscalculated the distance to those updrafts.^^

You do know that the next step to 3D is virtual reality and the glasses will be released next year?

Edit: Ok, renaming didn’t work for me. It’s back to crashing the 32 bit client in 3D or playing the 64 bit client in 2D.

It’s actually a split between augmented and virtual reality with the difference being do you see things alongside the actual world or do you see only the game world.

The technology is near, but both the software and hardware will still need improvement unless it gets rushed out and becomes an iWatch (not that Apple Watches were the first of their kind, but they were unnecessarily useless).

The current iteration of virtual reality goggles are not consumer ready (too pricey) and the market is too niche even without considering the price attached. In theory, it’s great and people love the concept, but have you or any of your friends/family used any of the “cheaper” VR alternatives? There’s too much rotating/moving for it to be practical on any level. And while you could modify the rotational speed so that you have 360 degree movement with only 90 degrees of head turning (~45 in both directions), it would still be impractical because you would still have to do rapid head turns to do full spins ingame, which are necessary.

Personally, I find augmented reality to be more practical, but the masses moved away from it because Google tried to release their Google Glass too soon and, again, the market was too niche and the product too pricey (although the price contributed to the niche).

Tl;dr: 3D is a gimmick. Augmented and Virtual Reality is and will be a gimmick for a while. Don’t get your hopes up.

P.S. There is no actual Apple product called the iWatch, it’s an Apple Watch for all intents and purposes. Also, most Smartwatches (that connect to your phone) are dumb and you should just put your hand in your pocket.

While the headtracking and controller tracking might be just gimmicks, the borderless screen with smooth 3D effects and no shutter or interlacing lines is the only thing I care about. And of course google failed. They basically copied what others did and tried to release it before anyone else does. But discussing VR is a bit offtopic…

@ayendra What 3D setup do you use? NVidia drivers or TriDef? If it’s TriDef: how exactly did you get the client to run? I’m still stuck at a point where the client doesn’t even show up.
