hey just wondering if the maximum base for crit is locked in at 40% now? ive been testing my ranger and i have been locked at 40% base crit chance since the patch. i was criting upwards near 60% without boons of rampage and call of wild. but heres the kicker- it seems like that the jewelry mods are being halfed on%; IE im at 40% and i have berserkers jewelry with exquisite ruby orbs that grant me 6% each.. but when i take one off, instead of dropping to 34% it only drops me to 38%. also have an ammy that has a 4% base crit with no jewel modded.. but when i take it off it only subtracts 3% instead of 4%. i thought it was an area thing since i was in lions arch but i went to cursed shore and the same thing is happening. I also have full set of superior runes of the scholar and i took 3 pieces of armor off it only subtracts 3% instead of 5% from the bonus of having 4 equipped. can anyone enlighten me on what is going on with this? Because if crit is being halfed and jewels not adding anything im going towards vit/toughness instead. it seems to me a waste now.

First off you open typing about Critical Chance, then start typing about Rubies that give Critical Damage percentages and Precision for Critical Chance. Which is it?

Next, If I remove my Berserker’s boots I lose 6 Critical Damage and 2 Critical Chance. Those boots have a total of 6% Critical Damage and 38 Precision. The Wiki says that at level 80, the required precision to increase the chance of a critical hit by 1% is about 21. So the reduction is accurate enough. Looking at accessories, I have an emerald earring (65 precision). Take that off and I lose 3 Critical Chance; again, close enough.

EDIT: And as a reference, I sit at 57% Critical Chance and +57 Critical Damage wearing that armor set.
