I also have the pet seed in my inventory. I’ve made the last backpiece long before the patch was released, and instead of the cultivated seed I have a pet seed in my inventory.

Probably redundant at this point, but i had the same problem, that my cultivated seed turned into a pet seed, didn’t realize until I tried to use my new pot. It was in my inventory, and did not know when the switch actually occured

I created the piece before the patch
it was in my inventory
It was altered before I even started doing the content.

Same here, the cultivated seed in my bank is now a pet seed. I’ve finished Dragon’s Reach, Part 2 story, but have not made any of the ingredients for the next step of the backpiece (e.g. the mist infused clay pot).

Needless to say… but same problem.

Looks like anet’s just going to have to do a search and replace in the database for all pet seeds, and replace with cultivated seeds. This is kind of like the ticket problem. Hopefully the fix doesn’t take as long as that one.

I also had the pet seed after the patch and ended up using the Mists Stone to make it the Pet Seedling. I’m not sure if I’ve skipped a step and whether or not this will ruin my backpiece but I did use a Clay Pot, 20 Foxfire Clusters, and 5 Pristine Fractal Relics so far and I’d hope that these mats would at least be returned to me if that were the case (as well as the bloodstone dust).

I saw this thread during my lunch break at work today (patch came out while I was at work) and made a note to check when I got home. My Cultivated Seed was in my bank and was replaced with the Pet Seed. I completed the Mysterious Vine backpack on the 7th day of Dragon’s Reach Part 1. As you can see in the screenshot, the seed swap happened before I even started DR Part 2 (green star above my map).

I appear to have the same issue as everyone else.

-Made the Mysterious Vine backpiece about a week ago, received the Mysterious Seed, put it in bank.

-Completed Dragon’s Reach P2 and got the Resonating Chaos Orb and such.

-Checked bank to discover the Mysterious Seed had been replaced by Pet Seed.

Is it possible to get the Cultivated Seed back through support? I really don’t want to have to go through that whole process again but would like to take all steps toward making the backpieces.

I left my mysterious seed in the mailbox, and it’s still the same, but now I’m afraid to do anything with it!

Cultivated Seed had been in my inventory since I got it a few days ago. I didn’t notice anything was wrong today as I upgraded the Personal Story items, but when I arrived at the Mystic Forge, the names of the items I needed didn’t quite match up and lo and behold, I had a Pet Seed in my inventory now.

What a strange problem! I wish ANet luck in trying to figure out what went wrong here!

I also have a Pet Seed now. Made the backpiece just a couple days ago and put the Cultivated Seed in my bank. Completed today’s Living Story update and when I went to pull it out, it was a Pet Seed.

Add to the list, got the item swapped;

Completed the previous piece a few days before the event
Have completed story steps, but not done any work towards next back
Seed was in my bank and not on my character.

One more to add to the chorus:

Pet seed was in my character inventory without having done any of the Part 2 story/crafting. I got half way through the new batch of items before I realized that they kept referring to an item I didn’t have any more…

I completed the first back item a week ago. Kept the Cultivated Seed in my character’s inventory. I noticed that I had a Pet Seed instead after I made the Resonated Chaos Orb, Germinated Foxfire Cluster, and Pile of Crackling Ley Line Dust, though it may well have been swapped before that.

Cultivated Seed was in my bank prior to LSE4 and it became a Pet Seed after the patch.

I have the same issue as everyone else. The cultivated seed got exchanged into a pet seed. I have everything done and all I need is the cultivated seed! I made my mysterious vine a week ago.

same issue, had my cultivated seed in my bank since i completed my backpiece a week after DR P1, it is now a pet seed. have the exotic backpiece from DR P1, have some of the P2 things done

I have this problem as well. I made the Mysterious Vine sometime last week, gave the back piece to my Guardian, and kept the Cultivated Seed on the character that made it. I finished the current LS and started on the new back piece before I noticed that the seed had changed.

Same problem with me. I’ve got a Pet Seed now. I created the back piece well before today’s new patch.

mine turn to pet seed too. i made the backpack exactly 7 days after it release (because the time gate items) i keep the seed in my bank all the time.

Yeah, same thing has happened to me. Cultivated Seed was swapped to Pet Seed for whatever reason.

- I had my Cultivated Seed in the bank.
- I have crafted the T1 Mysterious Vine backpiece.
- Started work on crafting the remaining pieces, save for using the Chaos Pot.

Completed the Exotic Backpack the night before the patch. Woke up today and after the patch my Cultivated Seed, which was waiting patiently in my inventory to continue it’s journey in progression, was replaced with the usurper Pet Seed.

Looks like someone forgot to carry the 1 in the item database during the patch and everyone who had completed their backpiece has now been borked.

Same issue here. Made my Mysterious Vine pretty early on, had the Cultivated Seed riding along in my inventory right up ‘til the patch. Logged in, and in the same inventory slot was a Pet Seed. I’ve since done the new Living Story content, but can’t go forward with making anything new (since I really don’t want the pet) because my Cultivated Seed has had this mysterious bug replace it.

Actually I think the real question now is does anybody still have the Cultivated Seed after the patch? Did all of them get changed or are we a minority…

I used the Mists Infused Clay Pot to make the Pet Seed into Pet Seedling, i hope i did not just waste it

Just popping in to say that my “Cultivated Seed” was also swapped for a “Pet Seed”.

I made the first tier back item before the patch. I finished all of the Dragons Reach Part 2 story content and created a Chaos Infused Clay Pot before I noticed that the seed had changed. Unfortunately I can’t recall if the seed was in my inventory or my bank when the game patched, though the seed was in my bank for nearly every step of Dragon Reach Part 2 (can’t recall if it was put there before or after the patch) up until I removed it with the intent to combine it with the pot.

Including a screenshot, since it was asked for.

I’m having the same issue.
1. Made before patch
2. Was in character inventory
3. I have charged Chaos Orb and Leyline Dust, but nothing else.

I found out about the bug after charging the leyline dust.

Same problem here. Made the backpiece before the patch and now have the Pet Seedling (I’ve named him Charlie) sitting in my bag.

1) Made the ‘Mysterious Vine’ backpiece in the last patch (Part 1)
2) Stored what was the Cultivated Seed (now the Pet Seedling) in bank
3) Have made the ‘Chaos Infused Clay Pot’, ‘Attunded Grow Lamp’ and “Pile of Crackling Ley Line Dust”

Same here as well, made the back a few day ago, left it in the vault and now it’s a pet seed. I’ve heard the pet seed has the same id as the original cultivated seed, might be worth looking into to see if that’s the problem.

I though that is was just a rename for the seed until I read the forum.

i have the same problem too.
i made mysterious vine a week ago and now i tried to make the second part of this backitem but i only have pet seed.

Oh well, i guess i’m gonna have to wait until its fixed, i have all the required items for the cultivated seedling, and a pet seedling that i can’t seem to find the charged plant food for x.x

3. I hadn’t done any new Story missions when I made it into a Pet Seedling. I have now done all the story missions.

I have the same problem.
Made my Mysterious Vine Backpiece (exotic), had the cultivated seed that was made with it , both in my bank. From LS Part 1.
Now the cultivated seed has been changed into a pet seed, so cant make the next step in LS Part 2.

I’d like to throw my bugged seed into the arena as well. Last patch it was the cultivated seed, now it’s a pet seed. As you can tell from the backpiece in the screenie, it’s not ready for that step yet. It was in my bank during the update. Just in case that makes a difference.
