Are you kidding me? I need to craft Backpiece 1 again because of a bug caused by you and I will get no refund? I don’t get it.

No, you don’t need to craft Backpiece 1 again. In fact, you skipped ahead several steps and saved a LOT of money in the process.

And you will STILL get the intermediate skin awarded back in a future patch.

But, by all means, go on telling everybody how you got the short end of the stick.

You dont understand, i at the very least am not saving any money because i already spent all the money for all the other ingredients for the second backpiece. The only thing i need is the seed, i did this in the belief that anet has always pulled through for me in the past. And they didnt say they would be awarded in a future patch, they said they would work on a way for us to unlock it, which sounds a lot more like us buying it than us getting for free.

I definitely have to agree with Therodin I put a lot of money into making this new backpiece and even after I switched out my seed and did all the steps after it won’t let me use my attuned grow lamp to finish it which is extremely upsetting and they still haven’t done anything to fix it and my backpiece isn’t even near completed now.

Pet seed here, too. It was in my character’s inventory.

So there is no way I will get the seed back to craft the second/third backpiece? I need to build the first one again? And no money left…

No, all you have to do is wait for the next fix.

All we need so, is a new awnser of anets part, because last response we got was
“We will not refund you, and you will not be able to craft 2nt tier if you had continued with pet seedling.”. Also, they said something about another way to acquire the skin on other way, what we can’t even imagine when will happen, or how much it’ll cost.

All we need is a new awnser of anet part saying that they are really working on a fix. A right fix, then we can all be patient and wait. But the last final word was that no fix was coming.

Yeah i really hope anet changes there mind on this whole thing. :/ Its really bumming me out

Here is a list of items I have lost because I have crafted recipe items for a recipe I can’t complete. I was one of the people who had their seed swapped to a pet seed and foolishly made it into the seedling. That’ll teach me to play on patch day.

I have crafted the following items, not realizing I can’t do anything with them because Arenanet gave me the wrong item.

Package of Leyline Dusted Plant Food

If Arenanet would just give me the proper cultivated seed, I could progress as normal and continue as normal towards the ascended version.

If not, I would like to have all these items refunded to me. The loss of the foxfire clusters and of the time gated materials are really hurting.

I have placed a ticket and am hoping for the best.

I really dont want this to fade into nothingness :/

Just push it! We all want a refund or solution. I will not farm tier 1 backpiece again for no reason.

I urge everyone with this problem to submit a bug report, I did and they got me squared away within a day or two!

I did, asked me for an exact date and time I used the Pet Seed, I’m so screwed.

And I just got the replacement [Cultivated Seed].
I wrote with information on crafting the [Mysterious Vine].
That I crafted it, and upgraded the seed item before becoming aware that it had unintentionally been replaced.

I’m sorry for those that had trouble with it, I hadn’t gone through this issue myself but after reading about it I just recalled an advice that’s used when you lose files on your HD: “if something that should be somewhere isn’t there anymore, STOP everything and DON’T touch anything” :P Joking aside, let’s put it as a lesson for everyone (and myself too): if something changes unexpectedly, don’t do anything with it. Again, that’s sad to hear a lot went in troubles due a bug.

It’s a little tough to just stop, drop and analyze everything, when both seed icons look the same, and most people hadn’t even stopped to check it since they got it, and stored it away for later.

Well it’s been almost a week since I sent my reports. And still no answer..

Is there an update on this and the other thread where people skipped steps because of this bug?

Hey, I am a returning player to the game. Apparently I stopped playing before the patch which replaced all of the cultivated seeds into pet seeds, and now I have somehow pet seedling, even though I need the cultivated seed. It seems that I was confused and planted the pet seed in the chaos pot because this is what I was instructed to do. Is there any way to split it back into pet seed and chaos pot so that I can exchange the pet seed into cultivated seed? Otherwise my progression is stuck

The cultivated seed makes the second version of the back item. The pet seed makes the third/final version and the bloodstone dust eater. So, unless you just really wanted to take the extra step of making the Cultivated Vine step, you can just work on the pet seed and not worry about the cultivated seed.
