It’s not bugged. Results vary. It’s designed so that if you are lucky, you get very lucky. If you play long enough, expect to lose a lot for periods of time. If you play for infinitely long time, you should expect to lose a bit (some redditors have estimated this to be 10-20% of input costs, although I’m skeptical if there’s enough data yet to be certain).
