Your computer may not be rendering the new character model (Mummy) that should appear when eating Spicy Pumpkin Cookie.
You could try a defrag of your Guild Wars 2 folder/computer.

What you’ve described sounds like the ghost effect you can randomly get after eating certain Halloween foods.
