character’s head is completely red. only this texture affected. (undressed char).

restarted client and game crashed after choosing character. required hard res.
restarted computer, started client, again game crashed.
reloaded older client (7 days old). downloaded all the updates and restarted game. no change, head still completely red.

Issue was solved for me with the last build update too. anyone else still having problems? otherwise this thread could be closed.

Same thing for me. Male Asura. Hope this gets fixed soon.

No crashes for me but my male Asura head’s completely black. Although he is quite ugly I would still like to see his face…

I’m having the same problem. My character’s face is all black.

Same problem here, logged in and my Asura characters have completely black heads with no features.

Same problem here. Was fine up to the patch then changed to an all black face. It appears to be linked to the hair colour as I went into the character creation screen to see if I could reproduce it. I used the default middle head for male asura on my engineer and that appears to be the only one affected.

I changed the hair colour to yellow (see screenshot) and the face changed to yellow.

I have a bug report logged with the following screenshots so hopefully someone will fix it.

My Asura’s face is all black after the recent patch. No features, no eyes, no mouth, etc. It was fine prior to patch and I have not other technical problems with the game. Repaired the client and updated my graphics driver, but no luck.

I have the same problem. It’s only with my Asura.

Same here. Male Asure character, head, face and eyes all black. Ears look normal. Just occurred since the latest patch.

Ditto on the subject. I have all male Asura (8 characters) and this only affected one character. Looking at the other screenshots it seems to affect only the one hairstyle, the jerry curl mini pigtail looking one.

Ok, so my Asura’s not the only one suddenly wearing a black leather mask upon login. Good to know…

Same issue on my Asura Male. Getting the black, leathery head. Opened a bug report in game with Screenshot.

Same is happening to me, asuran engineer with an all black face/head.

I’m having the same problem. My male Asura’s face is blacked-out. I have the pigtails hairstyle.

Yeah, same thing happening here, I noticed it while trying to make a new asura.

Logged in today after update and same happened. Also game seems to be glitching all over. Non responsive actions, or a buildup of actions for maybe 30 seconds then they either all happen at once, or the game dumps to the character screen. They could be lag issues, but have never happened up until today (Face glitch may just be coincidence?)

I saw another thread on this first, so I did post there, but since this one is more active (i.e. more likely to be noticed), wanted to also add that my Asura, with the same hairstyle, is on this bug list.

Same problem here. Wanted to roll an asura character, and the preview Engineer’s face is completely black. Quite funny, although I understand it has to be frustrating for people using this hairstyle.

Same here – my Asura’s face (except for ears and eyes and hair) is all black. I restarted the game client but that didn’t help. He looks like he’s about to rob a convenient store.

PS – my character has the black pigtails as well.

Mines black all but the ears I have a short jerry curl hair cut with two pig tail like obtrusion’s tight curls like braids.

I have this bug but less massive it just a little Scare only way to fix is to turn the display of helmet off

nope that “fix” doesn’t work. unless you mean something else than clicking the hide/unhide box? that doesn’t work unfortunately, see the pictures. maybe for some though

so in summary: only male asurans with the two pigtails affected. face takes on the colors of the hair.

anyone seeing the effect with another hair type?

i just did a clean re-install, issue still present.

I’m glad it’s not just me with this issue. You would think with black face gw2 on google you’d find more results. I had to type in asura blackened face to see that others were having the same issue.

Anywho, it clearly seems to be a problem with the Male pig tales. I’m sure a hotfix is in the works, but in the mean time. I wonder if we can change our hairstyles post character creation?

My Asuran has no nose… How does he smell? .. I’m rather surprised this made it into the latest patch. It’s is quite a noticeable error. I tried adding the -repair command onto a shortcut to run the game.. It checked all 227,000-ish files and said they’re fine. Whoops!

Same problem, same asuran haircut. I’m disappointed that we have not seen any response from Anet on this, even after several days and multiple reports. It’s a very visible bug and while the game is still playable it ruins immersion and attachment to the character.

Please fix it, or change my Toon name to “Jools the kitten”.

Reporting in as having the same problem today with my character. Yesterday he was all fine but today he has a completely black face.

Do we still not have a resolution to this issue? I mean I understand its not a game breaker.. but it hurts my eyes >.<;;
