anyone else experiencing this? whenever i open my friends list, my framerate just drops considerably.

every time Daish opens his contact list his FPS will drop to around 3 from 60 its getting very annoying anyone have any idea whats going on?

when Daish is using every other part of the game there is no FPS drop Black Lion Tradeing Company is fine Mail is fine

Daish has around 200 Followers on his contact list
around the time it reached 200 this problem started could it be linked?

could not find any more posts on the topic anyone know how to fix it ?

Ask the support to ban the followers permanently. This should not be allowed to mass follow one person to make them lag.

Every time I open my contacts list I get a HUGE fps drop in game especially when I scroll through my list…it gets worse, it’s been like this for about 2 months or so as it stands and I tried everything from re-installing the game, updating flash player, video card drivers, repairing the game client, etc…. and nothing works at all, and I know it can’t possibly be on my end because other people are having the same problem too (also with guild list)

My question is, when will this be fixed? I don’t even want to open my friends list because of the insane fps drop it gives me, and it shouldn’t be like that…guild wars 2 encourages people to be social and have a good time, and the insane fps drop says otherwise, sure we can still use the friend’s list, but with the insane lag it gives out it’s not even really worth using anymore…i’d like to just see who’s online without being hit hard with an insane fps drop.

I provided 2 pictures detailing my FPS without the contacts list opened, and with the contacts list open, and you can see the incredible difference.

Strangely enough, I do have a similar problem when I start to open the friend’s list. Is it because the process of opening and maintaining the friends list on is very CPU intensive, or is it because the graphics card needs to render all those things? (I doubt it’s graphics card.)

I hope that ANet developers will work on using the CPU more efficiently, as well as making sure to shift the resource use from CPU to graphics card.

For some reason my fps drops from 60 to like 30 fps when i open my friendlist. It is only my friendlist. I have redownloaden the client and still got the problem on every computer i log in with. It’s all with the same account. Any one else got this problem?

Your framerate will drop when you open your friendslist and guild lists because of all the traffic it’s receiving about the large number of players on those lists. Not a bug, but you can ask to see if arenanet will optimize the process.
