iliusions and mob resets
Mobs go invulnerable when their pathing AI says they can’t reach you (= their feet close to your toon’s feet). They can’t jump, so if you jump up on something it often happens. Unfortunately, there are some skills and effects (mainly teleports and knockbacks) that can put your character a bit over/under the surface and the mob thinks it can’t reach you. some terrain is also just glitched in rough spots.
If the mob didn’t go invulnerable, you could stand in an unreachable place (say on a roof) and safely kill unlimited mobs, so it won’t ever be changed like you suggest.
On the other hand, they are working on the glitched parts.
well i don’t think that someone gonna stand for ours on roof to kill unlimited mobs (except bots, but it would make them uncover faster). Fur my self if i would do it, i would do to clear my landing spot. Cause why not? I am using environment to my advantage, i am explorer, survivor, adventurer, why to face front doors when you can sneak in like ninja and this rule could be used only in pve, and not in dungeons. Plus in WvW you can actually do this by standing on walls and killing players. Yes AI should need some tweaks, cause just standing down and eating players dmg is stupid, and it would make world more dynamic. One of reasons i like gw cause its more dynamic than games i played before, i tired of just standing and exchanging skills with mobs. Yes it will be additional stress for servers, cause smarter AI will be required, but this stress will differ from how AI is handled in first place
