I have yet to track down why, but more and more often i find that the mouse loose ability to interact with objects in the game world until i log back in.

This means no highlighting or changing of pointer on mouseover, left click targeting, double click interaction or right click interaction.

Curiously i can still operate the game interface when this happens, so i can still do things like click skills, change options and sort through my inventory.

This happens to me too – I just thought it was hardware (my mouse just died last week). I would be using my right click a lot to be looking for something, and then my left click wouldn’t let me select a target. I’ve found that you can completely quit the game and restart the application to make it work. I also now use a wireless mouse.

Glad to see I’m not the only one with this problem. But I haven’t had it happen in a very long time. I play in windowed mode and alt+tab a lot between windows on my two screens, so I always attributed it to something getting screwy between switching. Only takes a few seconds to restart the game when its on an SSD anyway.

This has been a consistent problem for the past several months. I even went so far as to replace my mouse and it still happened. I have no idea why, and I do not Alt+tab at all so that can’t cause it. But inexplicably every once in a while I am going along working my way through the territory when all of a sudden my mouse stops registering in the game.

Only fix I have found is to exit the game and in some cases, completely reboot my system. I am not alone in this, because a lot of my guild mates experience the exact same thing, so it cannot be our systems.

I have been experiencing a lot of issues of this type. I do alt+tab if I need to look up information, but I have sessions (when I never alt+tab) where the mouse stops responding or if I click on skills, it links to chat (very embarrassing and I go to chat spam jail because of it).

Very frustrating. I really hope they fix this soon. I love the game, but having to re-log every time this happens just won’t do…

I am getting the same issue

I can’t seem to move some items in my inventory or if I can drag them they won’t drop into where my cursor is and they will go back to their original location. I can interact with everything else in the world just fine (interface menus, hotbar, etc..) This problem is quite annoying when trying to organize my inventory as it makes it near impossible. I can also drag and drop things in other programs like text on message boards and similar things.

Same here, as described on previous posts, only work around is to quit and restart.

I experience ths regularly as well. I haved filled out several in-game bug reports for it also. It tends to happen just after I zone in somewhere, but not every time… Just more frequently after I use a waypoint or zone change.

Quick question, are you guys on pc or Mac client? (I’m on Mac)

Wow I thought this was a broken mouse too! I did the same thing, went into my other games like WoW and STWOR and I don’t have a problem with the mouse at all. While I play the GW2 game though, the mouse is lagging, slow to respond, and when I click the mouse and hold to move my character some times the mouse doesn’t always work. I have to click more than once to get my character to move. Man, I just got this game GW2 a couple days back and am surprised at all the bugs in it. I hope they fix the mouse issue. I have a brand new gaming rig, just rebuilt it, and a very nice Naga Razer too. I even switched to a regular mouse to see if it was my gaming mouse, and I still had the same issue.

Oh I am on a PC windows 7 ultimate OS.

Thanks for those replies! I really thought this was just a Mac client issue. I’m sad to see that it is a universal problem.

I know that the only confirmed fix is restarting the client, but has anyone tried ticking the windowed mode option, then reverting to full-screen? I haven’t had this issue in about 2-3 weeks now, but just over a week ago someone recommended that as a ui fix for something else occurring and it helped. Just curious if anyone else might have tried that.

I had this really bad the day after the last patch which changed the knockback on the Periscopes.

I had to relog several times that day. Hasn’t been an issue since then though, strangely.

PC, 7 Pro 64bit. I also play pretty much exclusively in windowed full screen, and do tab a lot.

Happened to me too, apparently totally randomly as far as I can tell. Sometimes my mouse gets ‘stuck on view’ as if I kept both mouse buttons pressed too. And then there’s the automatic deselecting of targets.

Sounds to me like sometimes the mouse gets stuck in a certain effect and doesn’t notice a button being released.

Sometimes my mouse moves slow. Moving the camera randomly becomes slow as if the movement speed was dropped in the menu yet it’s still the same. It’s back to normal when I minimize the game.

You know – on 2nd thought the mouse issue only occurs on my laptop, not my desktop.

My laptop runs alot lower settings than my desktop – are there any settings related to cursor hover?

hmm, or it could be GPU driver related? Are both laptop and desktop using the same GPU brand?
