Only in this game does my mouse do this. I will use my mouse to move my camera and a lot of the time it wont grab. Or I’ll be turning my camera and my mouse will drop. I have a g500 logitech. I know it isn’t my mouse. It may be my drivers, I first tried the default window drivers and then the logitech driver. Neither helped to fix the problem.

this has been happening to me too, but only in the last few days. and only in gw2. i have a razer death adder (not pertinent, but yeah).

sometimes it means the usb controller on your mobo is dying. sometimes it means your mouse contacts are dirty.

i blew into my mouse really hard a few times, and it seems to be solved. we’ll see. you might wanna try different usb ports that are far away and on a different controller. or is it bluetooth? i dunno.

i know it doesn’t really explain why it only happened in gw2 for me, but it did help me and i hope it helps you.

GW2’s handling of the mouse is very weird. For example, press the right mouse button (to go into camera look mode), and start moving the mouse slowly. The cursor moves 3 or 4 pixels before the camera actually starts moving.

Also, if you hold down the button and something “interrupts” the game (like a cutscene, certain events, etc.), the game thinks you’ve released the button even though you’re still pressing it. This means that, suddenly, you are no longer in camera look mode, can’t turn your character with the mouse, etc.. You have to release the button and press it again to make the game react.

In coding terms, GW2 seems to be trying to catch state changes in the mouse buttons (mouse events, onButtonDown / onButtonUp) instead of checking the actual state of the buttons (DeviceState / isButtonPressed). And sometimes it misses a state change or resets its internal status even though there was no state change.

Seems like a weird (very error-prone) way to monitor the state of controls in a game, especially when DirectInput can do most of the work and deliver reliable information about the mouse state.

this happens to me all the time.

I cannot adjust the camera on my engi whilst using EG/FT cone attacks.

When using bombs it stops my #1 auto attack entirely.

When on other characters using melee attacks it stops their #1 autoattacks entirely and I’m just standing there.

It completely stops attacks from other abilities as well like the thief’s pistol whip sword attack. What the most agile of classes can’t walk and swing at the same time?

Can we get an answer to this?! I’m having the same issues and I can’t complete some JP while this is going on! I’m scared that I wont be able to do the Wintersday JP because of this issue!

GW2 for the win!

I’ve also been having this issue. I use a Logitech MX518.

Trying to drag expensive items over to the mailing bins or bank gives me the willies, because it frequently drops them out in the field without me lifting my finger from the left mouse button, which of course then prompts me to destroy the item/s. Happens frequently when I try to rearrange my bank items as well.
