mine don’t seem to trigger or even affect the dragon bosses at all I see them stacked up on the ground all the time but not triggered at all

I don’t think they do. Notice how Mesmer clones will fight on the dragons head? He’s not really on the ground I know, it sucks! My main is a staff necro that uses wells (minions die too quickly to be useful anyway, I use marks for the protection boon and life steal)

Not sure about marks, but wells work. Just have in mind that not the whole body can be damages from groundtargeted spells (you think your well is 20m high?).

- Check where Phantasms stand and attack. Those on the head are obviously unreachable by wells.
- When attacking with your weapon (especially with the staff projectile, check where it’s headed and where it disappears. Set your well there.
- When damaging it, see where the damage floaters appear and check there for your well feedback

remember that “on crit” effects don’t work on most world bosses.

Indeed, my staff is almost useless, and I do need to keep my distane with my light armor…

Wells will work in the right place, marks are useless against any ‘object’, even if it’s supposedly a huge animal.
