Hi,

Me and 4 other guildies did the last dungeon in Arah this evening and we all got a commendation for 1,000 influence. We all used it, but my influence and that of one other guildy never arrived. That’s 2,000 influence and for our little guild that’s quirw a lot. What went wrong?

Additional information is that Arah was closed in our world and we went as guests to another world.

Just checked on the other world and I couldn’t even see that server’s influence for our Guild. I find it unlikely that it’s supposed to be stored there when guesting if you can’t even see that world’s influence count but instead shows your home world’s influence. So if it got stored there, it would appear to be a bug.
Furthermore, for the 3 other players the influence did arive at the right server even though at least one other player was still guesting.

“Guests retain guild bonuses from their home world and any influence earned will accrue to their home world’s guild.”
We didn’t even get any influence for completing the dungeon (with a full guild party) so definitely a bug. Even if we were guesting, the influence should be added to our home server.

My question is then, did all 4 of you play on the same server. I mean, are your HOME server the same as the other two? (Not talking about guesting).

Otherwise I’m blank, with the exception that I have seen influence be delayed a few minutes, and back at release never arrive.

Yes, we all play on the same home server.

We still didn’t get the influence, so there is definitely no (short) delay.

Not that it helps you, but if you open the Guild Interface, go to history and pick influence, does it show up there? If you keep it open for a while, are there any recent “…” entries? Back in the beginning our influence would show up as “…” until Anet finally fixed it.

Sadly, nothing at all. It shows the influence gained by the 3 members but not from the 2 members whose influence has gone missing and neither the influence gained for completing the dungeon. It shows the influence gained after the event. It didn’t add up to the total either, we checked beforehand because we were close to getting a new upgrade but we only got rewarded 3k, not 5k+.

No, the history doesn’t show my influence nor that of the other guildy that didn’t get the 1,000 influence. It also doesn’t show the “…”. It does show the 1,000 influence for the other three guildies I did the dungeon with. So I guess the mysterie is still unsolved.

Edit. Herder.9806 beat me to it, I see. He is one of the three players that did get the influence.

We’re the 2 peeps who didn’t get counted still on the guested server when they used their commendations, or did they return to home server prior to?

I was still guest. Not sure about my friend though. But like the quote above from the wiki explains, that should not matter. I do think that the bug is related to that.

That’s what I was thinking too, you just can’t be too careful when dealing with your guild influence lol. Especially for us small guilds!

If your buddy was also guesting still, you guys may want open a ticket regarding this issue (one from each of you, even the guys who did get the points), this way, it’s guaranteed to be read and possibly even replied to by Anet staff. I don’t know if they can or will do anything, but at least make sure this issue is known and possibly gets fixed sooner rather than later. Support it with screenshots of your influence from completing the dungeon with 5 guildies and only 3 of 5 receiving the influence (influence tab screen) commendation bit.

Bad experience with tickets… Never got helped with them but we did make a new one yeah. Would be nice if Anet could at least reply or redeem the influence.

well here i am! The other guy! We really would like the missing 2k inlfuence. Is posting like this te right way? We simply earned it…. its a REWARD for completing that dungeon…. and we didnt get it…. Well i hope this will be fixed fast!

this may sound silly, but have you tried going to a different city (not LA) and buying the lowest amount of influence from the promoter NPC? it worked for me when I had influence “go missing”, got it all after doing that.

Anyone else who has experienced a thing like this before? Losing 2,000 influence for a little guild as ours is just not done!

Attached is the screenshot of three members that did receive the 1,000 influence. This doesn’t proof that I and my fellow guildy that didn’t get the influence, did use the commendation, but I am sure that their will be a continuation error in the logs somewhere.

Anet, can you do something about this?

Note the lack of dungeon rewarded influence as well.

I wonder if that had to do with the whole group guesting on another server.

I found this on the wiki about influence:

“Bugs: Under certain circumstances, you might not be generating influence for your guild. (Other symptoms include not being able to access the guild vault or buy from guild armorer.) To fix this, represent a different guild and then re-represent the original one. You might have to do this on multiple characters.”

I don’t think this will help us with getting out influence back though, but it does show that there are occasions where earning influence for your guild go wrong. Maybe we two where unlucky that guesting another world triggered this bug. We are generating influence for our guild now… or at least I think we do. I will definitely check that! :P

Yeah, the non-accumulating influence bug is detrimental to small guilds (I run one myself for my personal friends who never play… Takes me forever to generate influence for upgrades on my own andi have no one to help complete bounties lol).

I posted on the guild bugs thread (that was stickied a couple months ago) about login influence bugs and how to avoid them for the most part, but that didn’t involve guesting. Personally, as a general rule, I’d rather not full party guest just to find an “open” dungeon entrance. Let one guest, the rest should just be in the zone so they can get the dungeon invite. I mean, how else would gw2lfg.com work, right? Then wait until you get home to apply any guild related bonuses. (just make sure the guester isn’t going to leave before the dungeon is complete, just in case)

This is just a suggestion, it may not work at all, but, it’s worth trying if you might not get it at all anyway.

That sounds like a legit thought that would at least minimize the risks of not getting your well deserved influence. Thanks for the tip!
