pls fix superior rune of sanctuary
it has been many months.
many simple bugs are still not fixed.

Bug:
The bonus Frozen duration is likely not intended. It should most likely be +15% boon duration like Rune of the Monk and Rune of the Water, as it carries the same lesser rune version consistencies as them and caters to a defensive rune set which generally has defensive boons and boon duration.

Description and effect match. Anyone who stumbles upon this rune can read what it does, and buy it or not, without any decieving.
Furthermore, everybody that read the description and bought the rune would be being deprived of what they knowingly paid for, and getting something different back.
Is there an inconsistency on those runes? Yes. Is there a BUG? No.

2 minor sanctuary runes = +5% boon duration (support)
2 major sanctuary runes = +10% boon duration (support)
2 superior sanctuary runes = +20% chill duration (offense)
clearly this pattern is bugged.

That would be a VERY odd bug, something like this doesn’t just happen through an oversight.
1st: There is a 3rd set with 15% Boon Duration, Altruism (albeit not for 2/6)
2nd: If you would please shed some light on what precisely that would break balancewise
3rd: There is currently no alternative to Healing Power as a stat in combination with Boon Duration, which is easily fixable by changing Santuary to Boon Duration.
4th: If there are problems concerning PvP, it does not mean such a change couldn’t be approved for PvE. Skills have already been differentiated (it was mentioned on multiple occasions that this is going to be continued), some runes are completely missing from PvP, so there is precident.

I’m not Mr. Chapman but here is the breakdown of your points.

Runes of Altruism do not exist in SPVP. A lot of balancing is done with pvp in mind.
2nd: If you would please shed some light on what precisely that would break balancewise
45%(30% normally, but if it was made so, it would be 45%) runes + 30% traits + X% Giver’s Stats (+ consumable%?) = 75+% boon duration. Anet Balance usually tries to avoid permanent uptime for protection/retaliation which becomes quite feasible with that much boon duration increase.

If you REALLY need the boon duration. you can easily still get 40% from runes, as the majors can still be combined with the superiors. It can allow for interesting synergies (Had tinkered with multiple sets of runes of the flock, 4 sup and 2 major, both had the chance to proc, although they were on the same icd as far as i could tell)

Because three sets at 15% is 45%. Which is more than you can get with runes at the moment (which caps out at 40% in PvE and 30% in sPvP).
It makes more sense in sPvP since 15% is a rather large jump up from 30% and Altruism doesn’t exist in sPvP.
As for PvE it’s not needed and there’s no reason to make another unnecessary gap between two environments (sPvP and PvE). It’s just more exceptions they have to cross off as they make changes/additions in the future.

Because the boon duration is only 10%, and they do not have rune 5 and 6 slot, so it balances out.

I mean you can still get 15% + 15% + 10% this way as someone mentioned above. Is that 5% difference that big of a difference?

I already do run permanent retaliation and protection even with the lower amount of Boon Duration for my whole party(just as a fact). Also no Giver’s Stats or consumables in PvP (If you want to go there ^^)

No Vitality on the Superior Rune, hence no conjunction with “full” Boon Duration.

I don’t need the Boon Duration, BUT using it would be another point. As well as the aforementioned discrepancy with only Healing Power on superior runes. (and just to mention I have been running 2 sup water + 2 sup monk + 2 maj sanc since november)
My only beef with this answer is that I want the 15% boon with the 4 piece retaliation proc. I cant have both the way they have it set up now. If they really want to stop 3x 2 piece bonuses of 15% boon duration, they should just make the runes exclusive of each other.
The only thing this causes is people not using this set at all.
It sounds more like a fix that wasn’t thought thoroughly than an intended effect. 15% boon duration is too powerful for a second bonus. Why don’t you nerf it instead of break other things? Or re-design the Rune of Sanctuary at least the whole thing, not just the Superior one. Even +20% Retaliation duration or +15% Stability duration would make much more sense to the set and acceptable.
Sure it’s not a bug, but it’s still dumb.

So you give it a useless/ bonus instead? Does anyone really care about chill duration? Is chill duration even remotely as impactful as boon duration or, hell, any other condition duration?

I’d just like to quote this message and mention the new Superior Rune of the Traveler.
Seems to me that’s good reason to reshape at least one of the two runes to either include 15% boon duration on the Sup. Rune of Sanctuary or remove it from Sup. Rune of the Traveler. With the new platinum doubloons, boon duration increase on equipment has been increased loads anyway, unless they can’t be applied to trinkets/weapons.
