potions of slaying and condition damage
There is no bugs in Gw2.
Just features.
therefore the potions are useless for conditioner? O_O
This is really ridiculous if is true….
Anyone can confirm this?

This is not a bug, merely an application of game mechanics. Condition damage works differently, and I’m not going to explain it here, but suffice to say that slaying potions have no effect on condition damage.
In my opinion this is a gross injustice for conditioner player as me.
The increased direct damage with potion for this type of player (very small part) can not reach the damage of the first attribute power/crit damage player.
A ratio 1 for conditioner – 20/30 for berserker.
( 10% potion + 150% base on crit )
Exclude player to use this consumables is simple wrong…
YHGTBKM!
(you have got to be kidding me)

They’re still handy if you find yourself needing to TAKE an additional 10% damage /s

They finally fixed that bug when they released the Scarlet’s army potion (well, short after releasing it.)

they fixed the new potions but I wasn’t aware that they fixed the old ones as well. as far as I know, all the existing ones are still bugged which is why there are 3+ threads asking why they could fix the new potions so quickly but we have been complaining about the existing ones for over a year and a half with no concrete answers or an eta on a fix for them. I haven’t read anywhere that the existing potions have been fixed but if that IS the case, I would be ecstatic…
They just got the potions of slaying working correctly for physical damage…
ANet cant fix everything over night…. give them another year or two and I am sure they will figure it out…
It isn’t like they have publicly stated they are going to reduce critical damage and chance and try to balance out the damage so condition damage is actually as useful as physical damage…
I mean how could they ever intend on that, and make an achievement for the Knights being killed in 6 minutes of which requires pure physical damage…

I try today to use more and more potion ( exclude scarlet’s army potion) and I conferm there isn’t a condition damage boost.

i’m not worried about condition damage. if they got the rest of the potions fixed as they are supposed to be where you DON’T take an extra 10% damage then that is great. The damage was always supposed to be reduced and not an additional taken damage so that is the bug I was referring to. I wasn’t aware they fixed the rest of the poitions so that makes me happy and I will do some testing of my own i guess just to make sure. As for condition damage, it bypasses defense altogether so it has it’s own merits tbh. And most condition builds rely on a bit of survival to kill enemies so the fixed potions would actually still be very helpful as you would take 10% LESS damage from whatever mob. With the wild fluctuations and 1 second ticks/adjustments, I think it’d be rather hard to increase condi damage in the same way BUT at least the +10% to you physical damage is about the same as if they were to increase your condition damage stat by 10%. Tbh it probably more than makes up for it, though I understand you’re wanting the benefit of both. If the damage negated aspect is fixed now though, then there is no reason not to use these potions requardless of what build you’re using.
