'sticky' revive and movement
Yes and yes!
That first one not so much, but I’ve had it happen a couple of times. That second one killed me more than it actually should. I always try to pickup boulders and other items that are laying on the ground, and I’m also always autorunning. The result: Me autorunning and falling from a cliff.
Makes me feel like Cleveland from Family Guy when he’s falling down slowly in his bathtub but there’s nothing he can do about it. And instead he goes: “Noooo… nooo. nooo… noooooo!!”
I also believe it has to do with the character going in the ‘pick up item’ animation, but for some reason he keeps on running. Making all controls useless, because you can’t use controls when picking up items.
Please fix this!
Dodging and casting should always break reviving. Currently, dodge doesn’t break it at all and only a few spells break it.

neither of them happen often, luckily.
i find them both sadly hilarious and usually end up bashing my keyboard shouting ‘ kitten !!!’ while i wait for control to come back.
the animations are great, but please don’t let them hijack control away…
Bumping this thread. I’m doing that jumping puzzle in Southsun Cove today and am finding it really frustrating that the controls feels sticky and unresponsive. They need to really tighten up on the movements of the characters more.
I was just discussing this with a guildie. Escape usually works and some times using a skill. But shouldn’t movement take priority over rezzing?
I never used to have a lot of problems with this, but in the past week or two, it’s gotten 100x worse.
I’d say at least 80% of the time I try to pick something up when running, I’ll run right on past with 2-3 seconds of loss of control. I just stop running before picking anything up now, but precious seconds wasted make me sad.
The rezzing thing I really can’t figure out at all. Sometimes I can dodge out of it. Sometimes I can stop by hitting the function key again, or by hitting escape. Sometimes I can use an ability to stop it. Sometimes, none of these work.
The only guaranteed way to stop rezzing I’ve found is Rocket Boots on my engineer, because you can use it at any time and it knocks you away. This is pretty ridiculous, because it’s a -HORRIBLE- skill.
This can be game changing in pvp, I go to revive a team mate that got hit by treb, I see another incoming so i time my dodge.. and dead.. cant stop reviving to dodge.
next time i’ll just leave them there to die because of this..
I’ve experienced that too! It is so annyoing. :-(
And related to that statement:
I never used to have a lot of problems with this, but in the past week or two, it’s gotten 100x worse.
It is so true! I never had this happen before (or never that much, so I didn’t notice it) and in the last few weeks it happened so often.
I really thought I had to test if my keyboard would not function properly anymore, but as you all mentioned it, there was definitely a change which resulted in a worse and annoying control functionality.
Anyone else experiencing that you are not allowed to stop reviving nearly regardless what you try to do?
It is a little bit game breaking and I want to have an official statement for that.
And why is it so much worse since around two weeks ago?
One scenario:
I am doing event chains with a lot of players. There are some people going down/ dead. I notice a safe moment, run to them, start reviving one.
Then there are some cases that I personally want give preference to, like:
a) an incoming AOE
b) some loot nearby
c) fighting foes who attack me
d) …
So in the last month I just cancelled it by dodging or moving me out, it was also a little bit tricky before to stop reviving, but it worked quite fine.
Now it doesn’t work anymore sometimes (in 90 % of cases), however I am not allowed to escape/ cancel reviving. Is there some magical super clue which sticks me to the person I tried to revive?
Why?
If you don’t know what’s causing it, please implement a function/ button (not F!!!) where you can stop all your actions immediately.
I really love reviving people, but not on these terms. (It is not enjoyable to: lose control over your character, not being allowed to play to my preferences, to die whilst reviving (!!) and then to pay for the destroyed armor, …)
Please pay attention to that really annoying, but important, issue.
I’m having a similar problem with movement. I’ll be running forward and when I stop my character starts dodging on its own or moves backwards on its own. It’s driving me crazy. I have no idea whats causing this.
The getting stuck in autorun on picking things up is well known, and happens reproducibly if you try to pick things up while moving. You can break out of it by releasing, pressing, releasing the corresponding movement key. (And avoid the bug by always stopping before picking up bundles.)
Maybe the stuck in reviving is similar. Also, for me it has always happened semi-commonly since release, no noticeable change recently.
