Before anyone says it, yes I know we are getting these new features as well so it “technically” is a Mac patch.

What I am asking is whether or not we will be receiving any Mac client-specific updates? Seeing all of these new additions to the game would be exciting if I knew it was going to work but instead I’m left paranoid that adding in so many new features at once will bring up HUGE problems for this cider client. Just look at the last several patches! Every time something is added to the game it produces client crashes, drops in fps, and more.

Can we please get someone from ANet to confirm whether or not this patch is being fully and properly tested on the Mac cider client? It would be nice to know that we will be able to enjoy all of these new features. For now though, I am going to have to remain extremely skeptical.

I sure hope for a stable, real client. Most of my frustration with the game comes from the frequent disconnects that the Mac client has. I can’t do any dungeons because I’m never sure how long I’ll be online before the client decides to stop working.

This thread has over 1500 views also, so i’m sure it isn’t just 50 or so Mac customers looking for answers.

There is always the possibility of them saying something on saturday or sunday – I know that Anet technically isn’t open over the weekend, but there’s nothing to say that a couple of staff aren’t still doing things?

But yeah, otherwise it is quite disappointing. Even if someone were to pop their head in and say ‘Sorry guys, we’ve encountered x problem and won’t be able to mention anything until next week’ it would be better than promising an update and then not mentioning anything at all.

But hey guys, they’re advertising the minimum specs needed to run the mac beta on the store page! Ugh.

I’m just amazed that Anet is shocked when we tell them that we don’t feel like we’re part of this community and we feel like they’re taking advantage of us. The evidence is all around them but they won’t see how this relationship is completely dysfunctional.

Will we get a native client?

Can you ask this to the Mac team? Because this is main questions, which is causing a lot of speculations over and over.

And the MAC users are really wondering if they are considered serious customers to Anet (besides a gem purchase). If Anet considers us a serious part of the user group, we would like to get more 1:1 talk to you or Anet others, about the roadmap of the MAC client and what the goal is with it for Anet.

This is the kindest way I have heard anyone put the truth we face every time we log in, find an issue, come here and then get told off by poseurs and ignored by devs.

Can we please start being treated better? They did loads of research once that shows Mac users spend more money than PC users, so we’re spending disproportionately more and getting treated like dog-squeeze.

I imagine so as macs cost thrice a PC to begin with! Sure macs may be 10%-20% of the personal computer community last I checked but if they look at it in revenue then Macs generate far more than that 10-20% easily! I hazard to suspect the average mac user has more disposable income than a windows user, I’m not one of them sadly at least not yet ^^ Hope we get a proper client I been on this ‘beta’ nearly a year now, for the most part it’s been a blast

Per Capita, Mac users spend more than PC users, though I have no analytics that proves or disproves this in an ANet context. I would think if we were honestly generating enough income then an effort to sate our needs would be more visible. We have CC Danicia now, which means someone is pushing on the inside – though to what scale is anyones guess.

ANet netted like 137 million last year, I would enjoy it if they broke the earnings report down by game a little more, rather than categorizing the bulk of games as “Other”

Further to have an idea of Mac vs PC IGS would be awesome. That sort of info would give us a much better idea of where we reside in their eyes. We can strike and whine all we want, but unless there is a significant risk of earnings loss from such an action, it is a waste of time.

If I was rich I’d be developing my own games as we speak but would feel the fire of complaints as well so I’d maybe be a little more sympathetic to Anet then hehe. I could and should be working on that now but you know how it is, always easier to do ventures if you have capital to begin with but then if you do you can afford to be lazy… Vicious circle of life eh…

@darksome NO ONE said mac users were rich, some are, some aren’t. What mac users are is more open to spending money. This is an undeniable metrics-backed fact.
