Q:
Cant play since new update?!
This belongs in mac beta tech support
I’m getting the same problem.
At first after I pressed play it would open up a blank window and the colors on my screen would turn blue, but when i switched it to full screen i get a fully black screen with the guildwars mouse pointer for my mouse..

Same problem… anyway to fix this?
I’ve posted on and created one like this, even on their fb page. I love this game played it from sunday this weekend just gone and sooo want to continue playing as well . Mountain lion is 100% updated, the game is at 100%. Just ever since the new update screen darkens and opens a blank window. The curser changes to in game curser when its over the blank window. Then nothing else.
I run Macbook Pro 13" i5 4gb intel 3000HD
can wait for this to be fixed.
I am having the same problem. I’ve uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and still nothing worked
same here, i wonder when it will be fixed.
Exactly the same problem. I have not played for 1 month, it worked well before. It might be because of the last update?
just got this. was playing fine till tonights update. haven’t been able to log in since.
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
I was playing great for a few hours, my first time in the game, and then the update kicked everyone out and now I can’t even log in.
Im having this exact same problem, game runs wonderfully on my pro retina but ever since the update, its not working. Hope arena net can fix this soon.
Same Issue.
I’m on Snow Leopard and I was playing fine until the update forced a mandatory restart. I did it and Now all I get is a blank window with changing cursors and a darkened background. Please make sure the updates work before you force your client base to use them, ArenaNet.
Hey guys,
I’ve hit the same issue BUT FOUND A SOLUTION.
Click Finder, press CMD+Shift+G and type: ~/Library/Application Support/
And press enter. Then find the “Guild Wars 2” folder and delete it.
This is all your preferences and saved config. You’ll need to re-enter your login info and setup your settings and such, but you should be able to play now!
I assume there’s been an update which patches the windows files’ graphics settings, but the OSX client hasn’t been updated to work with it, thereby breaking it for those that have changed that configuration themselves.
To Guild Wars staff, could you please get your OSX team onto this as soon as possible?
Hope that helps someone other than me
Cheers all,
Tim
I just sat and waited it out for about 10-15 min and it restarted itself and updated.

this works
muchas gracias

Now I’ve logged in and got the same blank screen with changing cursor. Anyone tried Tim’s way yet? I’m wary of deleting things without knowing for sure it’ll work…
nevermind, I did exactly what Tim said and just have to reconfig my hotkeys and whatnot, but it worked like a charm. Thanks so much!

This works! thanks a lot!
Deleting those files aren’t harmful at all. The Guild Wars client replaces them when you run it again. It’s simply your setting for things like graphics options and custom keyboard bindings.
I can’t find the gw2 file in application support part………..
That workaround don’t work on mine
I can’t find the gw2 file in application support part………..
make sure you go to your user library and not your system library.
i.e. user/library/application support

ty, I figure it out
i apparently dont have a user library or application support for Guild Wars 2 ive done the steps above and no guild wars 2 folder shows up… ive searched my entire computer for a guild wars 2 setting folder with no luck. does anyone know another name for the folder? what happens is i hit play and it goes into black full screen i get the GW2 cursor and glove then after about a minute it crashes with error c0000095 im guessing it has to do with graphical settings but its strange the game was running absolutely fine before the update…

Try opening Finder and click on the Go menu at the top of your screen. Library should appear as you press the Alt/Option key. Application support should be right there then.
I hope this helps!
i just downloaded the new update (the second update since this issue start for me) and still the same problems?

hey guys, if you take the guild wars 2 folder out of application support and move it to desktop then try again
I cant find a guild wars folder
I have the same problems on my mbp 2012. After removing the GuildWars 2 folder from the Library/Application Support the Login screen doesn’t show up anymore.
