Q:

Yes, I know this isn’t really a support question but everything mac related gets put here anyway. So whatever. I was wondering if anyone knew how to contact ArenaNet directly? I’m wondering because I’d like to write regarding my concerns over the mac beta client. What brought this about? Well the reaction to the Chinese beta, mostly. There was considerable bad PR surrounding the Chinese beta which eventually resulted in Mike O’Brien releasing some statements trying to explain what is going on (see: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/20smr4/mike_obrien_interview_on_the_chinese_version_of/ ). Mac users will likely never rebel in the same way as seen with respect to the Chinese beta (even if we had the numbers we’d probably just leave the game rather than make a huge public stink en masse since we’re used to being ignored by game companies). So I thought I’d at least try to write a plea to them in an effort to get a public response regarding the state of the mac beta client. You know, one last push before giving up on this game and moving to a game where the company acknowledges the existence of the mac client at the very least.

Not sure on contacting them directly, but I do wish you the best of luck! If there were a petition of some kind, I’d certainly sign it.

Frankly, I’d prefer writing real letters and sending it to them (so easy to lose email without meaning to). Maybe I’ll just send it to their main office and hope it gets handed to someone and not a round file.

I would encourage people to write a constructive letter to Anet (please lets not be jerks). If you want to rant, feel free to write something really mean but don’t send it (save yourself the stamp). I’m still drafting mine up but hope to mail it off this week sometime. Almost wonder if we should send them pity cupcakes since they seem to like those cupcakes. lol

I wonder if it would be more effect to go over ArenaNet’s head and communicate with NCSoft the parent company and say hey, you guys are losing money because blah blah bad PR and blah blah bad Mac client blah blah Beta test for over a year blah blah 9 months to make gemstore work. You get the idea

Also any petition for native clients I will agree to sign. I know letters are good but does anyone know how to start an E-Petition?

I don’t think any consumers like ourselves have the right, expertise or knowledge to tell them if they are losing money or not. However, honest letters regarding our personal feelings would work a lot better over telling them how to do their job in my experience as a software company owner.

Indeed. We can’t really tell them how to run their company but we can appeal to them and share how we feel.
