It looks like custom soundtracks are still unavailable on the Mac client. I tried creating relevant .m3u playlists of .mp3 files for a few categories, but none would play.

Previous posts said to place the playlist files in /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2/p_drive/User/Application Data/Guild Wars 2 in the Music folder. Upon accessing the second Guild Wars 2 folder I saw that there was no Music folder and, unsurprisingly, creating one and putting the playlists in there didn’t work.

I’ve attached a screenshot of my system report, but it seems like it’s not likely an issue I’m alone in experiencing.

That’s probably because (and I haven’t confirmed this) an external process (that’s present in the average Windows install, but not present inherently in a Cider/Wine install) is what is called by GW2 to queue up the MP3’s?

Nope it used to work. I wrote a whole tutorial on how to make custom playlists for Mac but I’m too lazy to look that post up. I have not tried it in awhile but I ran custom playlist for months from about April 2013 to October 2013. I stopped using it after that because it was easier to just run iTunes in the background and rock out . If it doesn’t work now it most likely has to do with some of the updates they have done to the Mac client over the last few months.
