Hi everyone,

I bought a imac 27 with this specs:

3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz) with 6MB L3 cache
8GB (two 4GB) of 1600MHz DDR3 memory
1TB (7200-rpm) hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

and I would to know if is better to run the game with the mac client or install windows and running the game on it……

I’m new in the mac’s world, now i use a asus and the game is running good…
ah…sorry for the english, i’m italian and i don’t know if I wrote in the good form…

You will get slightly better performance if you run the game in windows, but your iMac is good enough that the difference wont’t be too much. So if you want to just keep running it in OSX then it would be perfectly fine to do so

I think it is better for u to run the game in win cuz gw2 doesn’t fully support os 10.9 yet

There is nothing to indicate they are running 10.9
There are only a couple of macs that would ship with 10.9 at the moment, iMacs would still be on 10.8 considering when they were last refreshed. And there are a lot of people who have not upgraded to 10.9.

Hi Ninuz,

Various reports indicate performance is much better when using a Windows partition, but of course I can’t TELL you that you must do this. This is simply due to the fact that the Mac client is still in Beta (please don’t hurt me!) and not yet fully optimized. So this really boils down to what’s more important for you at the moment: performance, or playing on the Mac client.

I would disregard. I run the mac client on a mid 2012 macbook pro and runs perfectly never had a crash just issues with black lion trade. I would suggest running in mac client especially so that if you do have issues you can post them and hopefully light a fire under devs to show more support for a native mac client. The more that mac users are pushed to a boot camp style play the less the mac client gets looked at. I say you bought a mac not a windows computer for a reason play mac it’ll run just fine.

high-end Mac Pro here.
I started on windows and it ran very well on best appearance.
When Mac version came out, I switched and it ran very well on best appearance.
no noticeable difference – always above 30 fps on both.
still running on Mac. Around June or so, game has started crashing sometimes so I reduced to best performance and now it’s almost crash-free. One of these days I may try windows again to see if it’s now better or not.

I do run 10.9. I’m getting from 5-32fps.
Only setting that makes a difference is render sampling – I get 60 fps when it chops resolution in half (oh boy it looks ugly).
Windows runs it with steady 60fps with all setting on high + Vsync
