If you play Guild Wars 2 on pc and you want a play mac system too you dont need to download again

First you need to download official Gw2 mac client software…
Install the based client data in your mac and stop the patch download…
Open the “finder” window and go to “applications” directory
Right click Guild Wars 2 icon and click “Show Package Content”
Copy Paste your GW2.dat file – pc to mac…
Wait a second and play

If this works, you just saved me about a day and a half of downloading. Many thanks.

It works, I had a Wine install before, same setup, just copy over the DAT. Works from any GW2 installation on any platform.

Before I found this post, I had to get creative.

Here’s how I found the file location:

  1. Downloaded and installed the GW2 mac client.
  2. Watched it begin to download the big dat file.
  3. Used Activity Monitor to see file activity on that process.
  4. Copied the file activity to a text file, and searched for “dat”
  5. Found the path!

Now that I had the path…

  1. I closed the GW2 client, then in Finder, I clicked Go, then Go to Folder…
  2. Pasted in the path: /Applications/Guild Wars 2.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/GW2
  3. Deleted the GW2.DAT that was downloading
  4. Copied the full-sized GW2.DAT from my BOOTCAMP partition into here.

Woot!
