Lag!!
Just for clarity, Lag is network latency. It has nothing to do with FPS. Totally different issue.
I also have this problem. I’m usually running at 40 – 60 fps, but then suddenly it will drop for a couple days to 10-20 fps. I have no idea what is causing this. My download speed is 60 – 80 Mbps. I’ve tried restarting closing all applications except guild wars and nothing seems to work. I just wait it out until it returns to normal. Makes me sad, as I love Pvping and it really hinders my performance. I’m currently in that 10- 20 fps phase. My game was running at 40 60 fps for about a 4 days until Monday. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem.

Have you tried deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2/ folder as explained in this forum?
Have you tried the SMC reset described in the Arena Net help notes?
I have the same specs as Vees aswell but retina display, I have tried all of the things in the forum. Restting smc, tweaking the config files,

I have the same specs as Vees aswell but retina display, I have tried all of the things in the forum. Restting smc, tweaking the config files,
Don’t “tweak” the config files. There are no user-adjustable settings that need to be tampered with.
Delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2/ folder to ensure none of the files within are corrupted.

Why does this solve it?
The patch did not cause the lag. Game runs the same. No problems whatsoever.
Running similar machine:
2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB of RAM
OSX 10.8.2
Why does this solve it?
It makes the game rebuild the files in it in a new, untempered, unbroken state.
I have to say ever since the Patch the graphics are bugging out and for the first time since the beta for Mac came out I’v been having crashes while nothing system side has changed. FPS has gone down too.
I’m so sad

Did you follow the instructions, above?
i’m on a mid ‘11 iMac 27’, rest of the info is below in sig. Would doing the SMC reset help performance for those of us on the desktop at all? I’ve deleted the GW2 folder from Application Support a few times, each time its helped
27-inch, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB, OS X 10.8.2
Would doing the SMC reset help performance for those of us on the desktop at all?
There is no harm in trying, but from a technical point of view it should not make a difference at all on the desktop.

If all you’re going to do is blame your woes on a game update that others have no trouble with and your perceived second-class treatment of Mac users followed by rejecting every attempt to help you, I am exiting this conversation.
Good luck with solving your problems yourself.

You’re giving me directions for a different Mac product. Why would I listen to your useless instructions?

Because all Mac products uses the same operating system. Although the hardware is different, Apple should keep the operating system consistent. If they didn’t, I would treat Mac as a second class citizens because they are changing things that are not broken and does not provide any more benefit
