Lose Keyboard and mouse function on quit
List what system you’re on and how your keyboard is connected to your system please.
I’m on a 2008 iMac, latest version of OSX (mountain lion), I use the Mac beta client, and I have my keyboard and mouse connected through USB hub.
You might have a problem with your USB hub, try connecting directly into your comp with these 2 devices and test it again.
Is your hub independently powered or is it only powered by the USB port?
My hub is independently powered. And, if I recall correctly, that issue wouldn’t happen with items directly connected to the usb ports on my computer (and not hubs). If I had a keyboard connected via USB hub, that would lose it’s functionality while the mouse stayed active and vice versa. I can test this again, but this statement is true unless something new happens. Also, thanks for the assistance.
It happens to me too on a MBP early 2011 (10.8.4, 2.2GHz, 8gb of ram, HD6750m), my built in keyboard and the trackpad (and any other external device) just don’t work (sometimes) after I quit the game.
It happen 100% when I exit using the ESC menu or trying to exit the launcher, and like 20% when I switch to window mode and use CMD+Q.
It started a few months ago, but I though this forum is dead so I didn’t post.
Please solve this annoying bug that makes me reset my computer using the Power button, which as far as I know isn’t healthy to the computer.
ty, Gil.
How odd. Some time back, I had my USB ports stop functioning after closing the game. I think it happened twice, I had to restart to fix… But this was rare and hasn’t happened since. I have an MBP 15" late-2011, same specs, but 10.7.
Perhaps, if this is still happening to you guys (and consistently reproducible), you should definitely file a ticket and get some personalised attention on this. I’ll poke around my Mac settings too, but I’m not sure why this would occur for some and not others.
Maybe Luis will have some thoughts too.
As a note, when I want to close the game, I use esc to pull up the options menu, choose logout, once on char select screen, I use the X in top right corner to close game. No issues with this lately.

Just checked it out, and my computer froze…
Oh neat, the “Report a Bug” under the support menu isn’t grayed out anymore in game. I’ll go ahead and submit a bug and let you all know if I hear anything back.
Do you use any Logitech device?
If so, did you install the Logitech Control Center?
I believe it might be the cause.

Report a bug does not get you a response, try this:
Then you should hear something back.
I use a Logitech wireless mouse with the LCC and I don’t have any issues currently, as mentioned previously.

What version of LCC are you using?
I downloaded the latest version about a month ago or so… I’ll edit this post shortly after I get on my comp and check.
LCC version 3.7.0
Mouse: V450 nano cordless laser mouse for notebooks.
Addendum: before I updated this (maybe 1-2 months ago), I was losing mouse and HALF of my keyboard functionality… Yeah, I could still use some keys, but lost use of the inner keys and I may have lost my trackpad as well, but I cannot recall that clearly. I don’t think I’ve had that during the last month. I have not been able to duplicate the situation though.

Technical Support
Hey guys,
For anyone experiencing this can you please submit a support ticket so we can get as much detailed information as possible? I can submit this to our hardware lab to see if it can be reproduced, but intermittent issues are hard to pinpoint, the more data we have available in terms of system specs and steps to try and reproduce, the better. Additionally with tickets in the system we can keep better track of the reports if we need to escalate anything.
Is it only in GW2 or also in other games?
if so i had a simular problem a while back and it turned out to be a mallfunction in the mouse all though it was a cable mouse. It simply made a power overload and my USB turned off for safety.
