Guild Wars 2

I honestly feel like Guild Wars 2 is over looking the Mac players. I understand they have outsourced the job, however I bought this game to play. The fact that all the work we are putting in is going to be wiped clean is bad enough. However I am considering getting my refund with this game if things do not improve. I get about 60 FPS on low setting, but I did not buy this game to run it on low settings! I want to run it on the highest settings and be able to get at least 50 FPS rather than 30. I want to be able to do pvp without lag and half rate graphics. This game clearly has a lot of potential, but I would really appreciate some sort of time line in regards to the improvements projected dates and the projection date of when the Beta will be over.

What are your macs specs? If you post them they perhaps they’ll have a better idea of what hardware it isn’t performing that well in.

- What on earth do you mean by that? Anet is doing any account wipes or anything like that..

You cannot put a downer on Arenanet because your machine cannot cope with running the game in Ultra mode. That is why all these type of games come with settings, you have to find the best optimum settings for your machine, sorry but that is how it is.

When I first ran the game I was not happy, crashes etc , since adjusting settings I am happy, not elated but happy. Infact I prefer running it under the Mac client, do not like it under windows very much.

How are you going to loose all the game hours you have put in ?

It’s not ANet’s fault. It’s Transgaming. I’ve posted this so many times it’s absurd, but ANet has nothing to do with the current performance of the mac client. That lies squarely on the shoulders of Transgaming, and all ANet can do is push them for updates (which Transgaming is horrible about doing).

The game itself is not in beta so you won’t lose any of your work building characters. Only the Mac version of the client is in beta; not Guild Wars 2. The Mac and Windows players are all sharing the same persistent world.

Of course we’re all waiting for more improvements so the Mac client won’t be in beta any more, but ANet can’t give you a date because – just like when GW2 entered beta – the results of our testing will determine when the client is no longer in “beta.”

You are sorely mistaken Ryo. Accounts aren’t tied to Clients or OS’s…
Considering there is no specific “Buy GW2 or Windows” or “Buy GW2 for OSX” options that would just be ridiculous…

You can play on either windows or OSX, and the client has absolutely no relation to your account whatsoever. They aren’t going to wipe any characters… They have explicitly stated this multiple times.

The client is the only thing in Beta. Yes, they wiped characters when the GAME itself was in beta. But this is just a client…
