Mac Beta?
Hi I am new to the Mac version of the game, which is currently downloading. I just got a new Mac, and had a few questions.
Are Mac users able to play with PC Users?
and, Why is is called ‘Mac Beta’.

Are Mac users able to play with PC Users? – Yes you can. There is no divide in the game between Mac and Windows users. 
Why is is called ‘Mac Beta’. – Because it is still in Beta. It is unknown at this time when it will come out of Beta. There are still some minor glitches related to the Mac client. For the most part they are not that intrusive.
Some other things you may want to know if you are not familiar with the way the client works. The client is actually a cider wrapper that allows the GW2 program to run under OSX. It is not a native Mac client and it is unknown if there will be one in the future.
As mentioned above, the client works fairly well for the most part. If you have some problems there are steps to correct them provided by many helpful users on this forum. The problems I have run across are fairly minor and usually corrected by logging out to character select or out of the game completely. Some of these problems are not specifically related to playing on OSX and can occur using windows as well.

If you have any issues after this, post a new thread on here and give us as much info as possible (mac system and system specs, troubleshooting steps tried, error codes, etc). Search this forum though, we have a lot of good tips and suggestions on the different threads. Even fixes for non-loading trading post stuff.

As a note for Luis:
We need to get this page updated for Mac users since many don’t know to come here on first thought and if our gw2.dat file gets corrupted (by an odd chance) how are they oing to know to check the package contents and will renaming the file work the same way it does for pc? Also, repair instructions need to be added for Mac:
