Map zoom - it's not what you think!
Have you tried using pinch-to-zoom in the world map?

Great Scott! I hadn’t even thought to try. I’ll see how that works when I log in this evening!
Would pinch-to-zoom also work on the minimap? I don’t recall minimap scrolling to be as bad as the world map, but I do recall that it is a little high-speed.
Thank you ccrazool – I had no idea about being able to use 3 fingers for mouse turning on my trackpad. FREAKING AWESOME! Oh and tap to click does not need to be enabled for “mouse” turning to work, yay!
@DevonCarlson: Aye, pinch-to-zoom works on the world map but it’s at the opposite end of responsiveness. It’s either very, very slow or not responsive at all. Using the thumb and index finger of one hand sometimes totally doesn’t work at all. Using the index fingers of both hands works a little better, but only marginally. I can’t tell if a quicker pinch or a slower pinch makes any difference either. I tried doing it with some “momentum” or “inertia”, too, but that didn’t seem to change it.
@Xellahmai: You’re welcome! It feels incredibly natural, doesn’t it? It’s the combination of “Mac OS X Settings, Trackpad, Three-Finger-Drag (checked)” and “GW2 Options, General, Camera, Mac Beta: Use either mouse button to change direction”. I LOVE not having to “click” the trackpad “button” and hold it down — it makes movements extremely fluid and easy.
