so “support mod” closed a thread of the same name before ANYONE could ask relevant questions, and also block you from sending messages to the person who created the thread. apparently you have to wait TWO DAYS after you read a thread to send someone a message as spam protection. really? Isnt the point of a thread that MORE than one person might be helped????

grrr. HOPING someone has the answer to the question I would have asked IF I had been allowed to do so.

The original question was how could you use a mouse to move your character and the response was use a PC mouse. Now my question would have been What PC mouse are you using with your mac to move your character? Im using a kensington but Im not able to move my character with a mouse AT ALL.

Is there some trick to it? or maybe I have the wrong kinda PC mouse? I note the original poster of a thread by the same name indicated you hold down both mouse buttons to move your character but thats not working for me either.

if someone with a mac has figured this out can you be more specific than “PC mouse” and if there are any mac guidelines for moving your character with a mouse Id like to see ’em because I searched and got nothing but AWSD.

Holding down the left and right mouse buttons (you have to have a mouse with left and right buttons) should let you run with the mouse I think.
There is no point and click to move if that what you meant though?

okay, so Im not sure what changed. if it was quitting the game and returning, or the latest update or what, but my mouse is working.

For me this works by holding down the left mouse for directional change and the W key to move forward simultaneously. The mouse alone doesn’t do anything. But Im super good with this solution.

Again note, this is a PC mouse with a left and a right mouse button. I havent tried this with a mac mouse because I dont own one.

It definitely doesn’t work with the magic mouse so don’t worry about wasting money on one…

I still don’t understand this question.

You can turn by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse, you can run forward by holding both mouse buttons. That is how I always move.

Now if you have a magic mouse, obviously you have to turn on right mouse button emulation. If you try to use the touchpad… well, that’s a bad idea I think, but you can probably make it work by assigning the right click to certain touchpad areas.

I have used a Logitech Bluetooth mouse for a few years. Recently I upgraded to a SteelSeries Kana, since the Logitech had connection issues and had lost precision. Steelseries doesn’t have proper Mac drivers, I use USB Overdrive to assign function to the extra buttons, but I don’t actually use them.

I use a Logitech G700 and am very happy with the extra buttons that I use mainly for attunement swapping for my ele.
To move you have to press both left and right button, either one by itself will move the camera perspective.

I love my magic mouse. don’t hate.

What I got from the OP is that they want to use JUST the mouse to move. I love my magic mouse don’t get me wrong. More is needed than the mouse to move with me at least.
