Hello fellow guildies. (Remember, prices below are in Australian, so keep that in mind.)
I have a….problem at the moment. I am about to buy a PC for school and for gaming. I am looking at a $1300au to $1700au price range. (More likely to buy >1600 unless there is a massive increase in performance.) I have my reasons for a mac, mostly the look and the build quality. (By all means, suggest SLIM and light PC laptops in my price range if you want, but only slim ones.) I really only want to play gw2 along with some other mmo’s and the occasional FPS. What is the average fps for all SKU’s of macbook pros. (I.e hd400, gt650m, i7 or i5.)
MBPr 15" is a nice choice and it runs the game very well! My hubs has one and I’m jealousy of his non stuttering vistas and shiny graphics lol. Medium/high settings he gets ~45 fps pve, ~20fps LA. I get ~30 fps world, ~14 fps LA on medium/high settings. These settings take me down to ~5fps is Zerg style battles though… I cannot attest to MBPr fps for that though, he doesn’t Zerg lolololol.
But I run fine on a 15" MBP late 2011. So hopefully this gives you a nice comparison.
