Thank you, but unfortunately I still cannot log in from my Mac.
:(.
/clientport 80 is a fix ArenaNet introduced for people whose ISPs traffic shape their data therefore causing lag and stuttering issues during peak times.
Are you sure it’s what you are looking for if you can’t even log in?
What error message are you getting?

The /clientport 80 fixes my login problems on my PC (+endless loading times).
I usually gets 42 and 58 Errors and if I manage to log in, I get stuck in an endless loading screen.
That does sound like packet shaping issues.
Are you absolutely sure you followed my instructions to the letter?
Works great here.
Make sure in that line I showed you that there is a space between the — and Gw2.exe
Hello. I know this topic is very old. But recently a friend of mine has started playing GW2 on her MAC.
The first day was ok, but kept DCing with the error code 7:11:3:189:101.
We tried this fix for the MAC but the file that runs the game gets corrupted after modding it with the code.
Is there something im missing or is there another way to fix this?
Please help, my friend is getting frustrated that she paid for the game but hasnt had a very good experience with this error.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear she’s having issues
I may or may not be able to help you, but I’ll try. If I can’t, she definitely needs to look at the sticky for submitting a ticket and do so. This way, Anet pros can help her personally and get her up and running again. Then you guys can post back here to help others lol.
First note, it seems many have started having d/c issues and high lag/latency in the last couple weeks (since a minor update about 2 weeks ago) and second, the Mac forums aren’t really being supported by Anet lately, so submit a ticket or try your luck at the pc tech support forum (but they just kind of ignore us there lol). 3rd, every computer is different and every home Internet setup is different so not all solutions may work for her due to individual circumstances. And I know nothing of her setup or computer.
These steps only work on home setups, not university or public connections due to lack of control over the latter.
Make sure she tries playing with any firewalls (including router/modem ones) or anti-virus software disabled and if the issue still occurs, re-enable (if not, gw2 needs to have exceptions made and ports authorised, as listed below in the first link)
Have her try these things under code 7:
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8994/~error-codes
I personally use QoS with high priority, but each setup is different.
If the d/c still occurs, she should check her connection to the server and the routing:
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9245
There are examples listed so she can see if it’s her issue, her isp’s or possibly server side. (this works well if you can test it prior to a disconnect lol or during times of lag, but it is very valuable to know what optimal speeds look like by checking during off-peak times like early in the morn or after midnight)
I’ve never personally had the issue with port 80, my disconnects were due to my wireless card switching wireless bands (2.4ghz or 5ghz) due to signal degradation and recovery since I have a dual-band router. It would occur randomly and very quickly, but that small change was enough to make the sensitive servers drop me.
Let me know how you guys make out with this. Hopefully, this easy fix is her ticket to smooth play.

Hi Kyllaa,
I saw your post and we used most of your tips to fix this problem.
I apologies for not providing more info on her Mac machine.
We finally got the clientport code correctly in place and did QoS and port forward, all the artillery in place.
For now her DCing went down but she still gets kicked out everytime she moves to another map.
But for now she can at least play normally while in one map.
One hiccup though, she is unable to access the Trading Post with all this in place.
All this is while connected directly to her router with a RJ-45 cable.
We will keep trying different methods and combinations, if all else fails we will contact Anet about this.
If something new comes up or find a solution to this i will post our findings.
Thanks for the update!!!
Glad some of that helped the d/c issue, sort of. I can confirm that others has been reporting frequent disconnects since the 3/26 patch that hasn’t been completely resolved yet. Even I had my first disconnect the other day oddly enough. And I’m still getting random input lag and baddie rubber banding, but I still believe some of that is server side.
I can list one more set of instructions to possibly help with the tp. It helps many issues associated with the tp and some other things too. (this helped me to purchase gems again on my system since it broke just after launch) On occasion, the tp still plays up and doesn’t load, but a client restart and/or waiting some time tends to allow it to load again. Try step 3 first. (it’s the long one)
Here are the steps to try (length warning):
1.) run software update to ensure all drivers and os are up to date.
2.) try repairing disk permissions via Disk Utility first. Then…
3.) repair the client install
Open Terminal
Type the following:
/applications/guild\ wars\ 2.app/contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:Gw2 -- C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe -repair
You can copy and paste that in too. (check the dash just before the word USE) they are 2 dashes (-) side by side… I’m noticing one sometimes looks like an em (—), but it is actually 2 en dashes (-) side-by-side. Run it and let it go until finished. FYI if you type the command yourself or paste it, (the dash before USE is 2 regular dashes). I reiterate because the forum changes it every time and has caused many an issue for peeps.
3.)Perhaps after doing that, if it doesn’t work, you can try to delete the contents of the hidden gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one: please navigate to it using finder and do not search for it using spotlight
Mine is located under the hidden Library folder
/[yourharddrivename]/users/[yourusername]/library/application support/guild wars 2
Delete the contents of that specific folder (you should see files like this contained within “config, dyndata.dat, user.reg, userdef.reg, and folders p_drive and wineserver…namestuff…loca..[long name]” just to list a few), then re-run the client.
~~Your folder is probably hidden (as is the default). I found this after googling:
http://m.wikihow.com/See-Hidden-Folders-on-Mac-OS-X-and-Other-Recent-Models
Others claim alt+clicking a file/folder unhides the contents, but that was never successful for me. At least the link has visuals for you. Hope it helps.
4.) If none of this works, check the sticky and submit a ticket.
If she’s still getting the d/c upon changing maps after all this, do fill out a ticket and continue to update us as to what actually worked for you. Good luck again and that’s for checking back
