Hi, I have not been able to gain access to trading post for the past two months on my mac client. I have another gw2 installed on another windows laptop and the trading post works fine there. Is there anyway you can help address the issue? Thank you!

I’ve been experiencing the same thing for the past week on my mac. Other players report that it works for their windows based machines.

Try deleting the contents of the gw2 folder and let the client re-download it. That fixed most of my issues with the tp. On occasion, I still have loading issues, but usually a client restart fixes that. Hope that helps you guys! (check the forums for the location of the folder)

It’s an odd recurring problem. I have in the past seen a high correlation between deleting the aforementioned folder and the problem’s being solved, but I’ve also seen it fail to work, and I’ve seen the issue resolve itself without doing anything. For me, at least, it’s happened much less frequently than it did about a month ago.

That being said, deleting the folder has nearly no downside, so if you’re desperate, give it a try. Instructions here.

no downside beside re downloading several gigs

No, it’s not that bad. That’s why I posted the link. What I was referring to (even if the other poster was not) is deleting the application support folder. It’s small, maybe 10-20M or so. The client will also forget your username and password if you told it to remember them, but nothing else is lost that I’ve noticed. The rest of your preferences are stored server-side.

Thank you so much for posting those instructions. My TP hasn’t worked for 7 months and I just assumed it was a bug that needed to be fixed. I tried this and it worked!! TP now works after 7 months of it closing the entire client when I would click it.

Thanks for posting that Starry, I couldn’t remember where I saw it and wasn’t on my comp at the time of posting to confirm the location. As you said, it’s not the whole multi-gig file, but just a few mb worth of data, hardly an inconvenience. And no, it doesn’t fix every issue, but it can help with some of them. I couldn’t purchase gems on my system, I’d get all the way to the last step then get a parse error. I tried all the browser fixes and none worked, but the delete of the mentioned folder. So, it’s not for everything, but why not try it if there is a possibility it could alleviate some grief. As for the loading issues, yes, they sometimes just sort themselves out.

Kyllaa – This solution was dead-on accurate. I wish Area.net was this helpful! Thanks for your help.
