Help? Anyone?
Hi Darkness, after reviewing the Game Advisor report you had provided it does not appear as though your graphics card meets the minimum requirements to play. This can certainly have an affect on whether or not the installation will complete.
In addition, by default port 80 will be closed for most players and this generally will not have an impact on whether or not you can connect to the game client.
Since I can see no other reason that the installation will not progress it appears the culprit is the graphics card.
Hi,
I tested with an HD7750 and I still get the same issue. So I guess It’s not gpu’s fault.
Could it be something related with the router or something? Something is clearly blocking the access to icmp.arenanetworks.com
Help? Any ideas?
I have the exactly same problem.
It’s possible. I would need to see a GA from the other system for comparison. If you’re worried about port 80 being blocked then you could try opening that port through your router or adding the /clientport 80 command to the shortcut. You can do this with these steps:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
Same issue here. Got the error on startup, launcher sat at 0% and closed. I made no change to my system or my network between yesterday and today; there was a game patch though.
I am fine with downloading files, so i tried a fresh reinstall, and it is still happening. I tried the 7 steps above, and still happening.
l had been playing fine for 2+ weeks.
Attached is my GA file.

Nope, still not working. Tried everything so far.
Hello again AshleySegovia i just tryed what you said, and it’s still not working.
I already saw all topics similars to mine, i had tried everything, and till now everything i tried was useless.
Anymore ideas to help me and the rest of the community?
Hi Darkness – Unfortunately because of the “symptoms” that you had described, specifically “it shuts down automatically” I believe this is due largely in part to your graphics card being under the minimum requirements. In many cases the installation will cut out part way or not even start depending how far under the minimum requirements you are. The only other thing I could suggest would be to try a different connection method such as connecting from a different computer or from a different location.
@Damarus – For you this is a little more tricky and so I would like to rule out the possibility that there is another program interfering with the game connection. To do this, we use a Windows command called “MSCONFIG.”
Please note: this command will not uninstall any applications from your computer. All MSCONFIG does is prevent these applications from automatically starting when Windows boots up.
To do this:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and then hit the R key. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type “MSCONFIG” without the quotes, and click “OK.” This should open the System Configuration Utility.
3. Click on the “Services” tab and check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box near the bottom, then click the “Disable All” button. (You MUST click “Hide all Microsoft Services”)
4. Next go to the “Startup” tab and click the “Disable All” button.
5. Once these items are all disabled, click the “OK” button and you will get a prompt to restart your computer. Please restart your computer.
6. Once you return to Windows, please try connecting to the game again.
To reverse these settings, simply run MSCONFIG again and click “Normal Startup” on the first window labeled “General.”
Note: If you need a specific application to run with Windows but still want to use MSCONFIG, just follow the above instructions and on step 4, re-check any application you feel needs to start with Windows. Examples would be wireless connection software, mouse or keyboard applications or even security applications. Please note that security applications can often be a contributing factor to such issues. If you haven’t done so already, please also disable any Anti-virus, Firewall or other security applications for testing purposes.
Hi AshleySegovia – i have the same issue, already tried everything you have mentioned. Disabled all startup services including anti virus and fire wall too. Still the problem persists. It wont download, says “Connection Error(s) Detected” and keeps retrying. Does this rule out the possibility that another program is interfering with the games connection ?

Got the same issue.
Hey,
Thanks for the support AshleySegovia, I’ve changed my GPU and it’s downloading as I am typing.
Thanks, Darkness.
Hey Darkness thanks for the update. I’m glad to hear it!
im having the same problem… but i dont think is my video card.. (nvidia 9800gt)
Hey guys, I had this problem too and when I saw that none of the suggestions here worked for me I looked elsewhere.
If you have AVG Antivirus installed it could be causing these problems! Here is what I found and it worked for me!
