Hi everyone, just thought I’d give my experience playing on the basic 2011 iMac model.
First off, the important stuff:

OS 10.8.2
Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB

I downloaded and installed without issue. My first launch also went swimmingly, I had zero issues and 30-40 fps on the auto-detect graphics settings, most of which are medium or low. I care more about smooth play so this is fine with me.

Played that night without issue. Haven’t had any issues since save one that I haven’t been able to replicate. One time after logging into a character, I right clicked to turn the view and the camera went crazy, circling my character at the feet any time I held down either left or right on the mouse. Otherwise it was fine. I had to restart the game to fix it.

All in all, I’m happy with the client. Its not being native isn’t ideal, but I’m glad to be able to play on OS X.

Thanks for the feedback robinoz, but please add your resolution.
It makes a big difference if you’re using a 21.5" or 27" iMac.

Whoops, forgot about that!
It’s 21.5" 1920 × 1080

27" iMac, 2.8 GHZ Core i7, 12 GB 1067 DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB, running Mountain Lion, at 2560 × 1440 with almost all graphics settings (including FSAA) maxed out, except for shadows.

Frame rates are lower than the OP’s (26-36 depending on scene complexity), but gameplay and performance are very smooth, no visual or input lag, no screen tearing, no stutters—very playable, and very pretty. However, I do notice that GW2 makes my Mac run quite hot, with fans kicking in after a relatively short while. Here’s hoping that may change if (when? please?) we get a native client.

Ok, I switched to 1920×1080, and even set the shaders to high (had them at medium before—s.a.—actually) and now I consistently see frame rates from the high thirties to high forties. Still looks smashing, but also still runs fairly hot.

I’m testing the limits of my machine later today with WvW, SPvP, and large events. I’m guessing that’s where the low end of fps will be. Anywhere/thing else I should test as I mess with the graphics?
