Ive asked a few friends and they said their clients are between 17-18gb.

Mine is 24gb, is this because i still have the beta client ?

Could be. Try running “-repair” to see if it shrinks it.

I did the repair but it stayed 24gb i think this is causing my long load times too.

Tech support do you know anything about this please ?

You could try saving the game to an external hard drive and re-installing using the latest installer.

I would guess it is because it is because you have the file from beta. If it I had to extrapolate, I would guess further that some of the internal files in the dat aren’t compressed like they would be in a fresh dat file download.

Two things to try. 1 Defrag your hard drive. 2 Download a new dat file.

I personally haven’t seen much evidence that this game suffers much from the file stagnating over time and the performance getting worse just due to that, but 1 machine isn’t statistically significant. Defrag first. Personally I like MyDefrag, it is free, just don’t run it on kitten.

If you have the space, just rename your current dat file to something else and let the game start downloading a new one. You can delete the old one when the new one finishes.

You don’t need the latest installer, just deleting the gw2.dat or moving it will cause the game to get a new one. Also moving or deleting the local.dat file may speed up your load times too (write down your settings first).
