Guild Wars 2

Hi, i just bought the game installed on my machine and im getting 10FPS max. Tried all resolutions all graphic settings please help me! I got the latest AMD drivers and DirectX installed. Im no PC nub but i dont see what could be wrong to make this happen..

My specs:
i7 2600K, 12GB RAM and AMD 7970 3GB

For starters in Catalyst control center set everything to defaults.

its all set to default actualy i just never touch catalyst settings. I might add that my CPU load is at like 10% and my 7970 at 89% doesnt matter which graphics settings i pick

can you post your dxdiag?

Did you install the Catalyst Application Profiles as well found on the driver page?

Catalyst App profiles are for crossfire configurations only i think.

those application profiles are normally for crossfire setups, but sometimes they do release profiles which enhance single gpu setups. CAPs 2 and 3 had enhancements for GW2. they can’t hurt anything so there is no risk installing them. you should give those a try.

my 7970 stays in the 85-100% range when playing also. cpu is at 50-60% for 3 cores and 70-80% for the 4th core. what kind of load do you see on your processor when you play another game or use a benchmark program like prime 95?

your processor is no doubt holding you back for some reason. have you played with any bios settings?

not sure if its related but i notice your PCIe bus is @x1 on your system summary

PCIe v3.0 x16 (8.0 Gb/s) @ x1 (5.0 Gb/s)

it may not fix your problem, but its curious enough to look into with your rig

You’re awesome for some reason maybe with moving the case around the card wasnt properly seated. Its funny all other games seem to run fine even with a x1 bus but not GW2. And that includes games like crysis 2 and BF3.
