Guild Wars 2

I had a 3GB update today and my GW2 folder size is about 18.2GB.
Apparently, no one else had this update. I had another old backup client and it updated the same. I asked around ingame and it appears that i am the only one who got the 3GB update today?

I have not had any kind of update for weeks. I’m sorry I cannot shed some light on why you had to download that. Since your backup also had to download this ghost update then I guess it cannot be attributed to suddenly corrupted files needing redownloaded. My current install is 15.3gb.

Also, good idea on having a backup, updated install to save you from having to download all the updates following a fresh install. I have that for GW2 and other games as well on a backup drive. I highly recommend all others to do the same if they can spare the drive space for it. It will save so much time in the future if there is a need to reinstall the game for whatever reason.

I will bet on language and localisation files. If you change the game language it will most likely require extra files for both the current and the newely selected languages.

To think about it, i think i messed around with the audio language before logging out last night. I guess that explains it.

3GB in just localization files seems kinda high… I can’t see 20% of the game size being because of a language setting.
