Found the problem was not in that post, i reduced the affinity of the game to 2 threads instead of 8 got everything set to high with aa on and performance went from 5fps to 40-50fps what kinda crappy design is that?

2 thread instead of 8? I think you mean cores. (Gw2 actually uses like 50threads)

So disabling all but two cores and your FPS increased?

disabling all but two threads of the 8 threads on the i7 raised fps from 5 on lowest setting to 45fps on high-max theres a bottleneck in the i7 4core-8thread platform if a program grabs 2 threads in 1 core theres as much as a 25% decrease in some applications turns out as far as gw2 is concerned its 95%+ performance decrease so disabling 6 of the threads while picking 2 on different cores, oddly picking 3 or 4 threads did nothing for performance gain i needed to disable 6 of the 8 to get the boost and it was beyond substantial performance increase.

Yes a core i7 has 4 physical cores, with hyperthreading enabled each physical core will have another logical core for a total of 8 cores seen by the OS.

Try disabling hyperthreading. My hunch is that GW2 is trying to use logical cores, but doing so doesn’t help because it lives on the same shared physical core. GW2’s main thread (game loop) is very dependent on single core performance, and by loading two big threads into one physical core it slows down inadvertently.
