I made a character tonight with the name [REDACTED OFFENSIVE NAME].. I’m assuming that im not being suspended for any of my other character names. how did I break any rules? I can see that the first part of the name may resemble the word “[REDACTED]”, but I didn’t name it [REDACTED OFFENSIVE NAME]. or anything.. it was more of a play on words of giganticus lupicus. I feel like this was an unfair account suspension. I would really like some kind of feedback on this.

It seems everyone who makes a name in bad taste and gets a suspension or a renaming comes on the forum and protests that it was
a) not in bad taste
b) unfair

My feedback to you is that it is in bad taste and if you got a suspension rather than just a renaming, that means you did the same sort of thing previously and didn’t learn. Whatever made you think that someone would look at that name and immediately think Giganticus Lupicus? There is only one thing that people would immediate think of, and that’s not it.

I have had no prior problems whatsoever. at all. this is my first offense for anything.

It’s clear that the name was inappropriate. Do you honestly feel that the name you mentioned (not to mention your deleted posts with the insutls) are appropriate, GanjaFace?

Look, dude. No one lives inside your head. You can come and protest that your name really stood for something totally innocent that has deep meaning for you, but that does not matter. The question you need to ask yourself is “would any person who has never met me know this?” and “Is there another more common use?”

After all, there’s a town in Austria that the forum would filter, but it starts with F and you can probably guess the rest (it ain’t “firetruck”). If I named myself after it, 99% of players would not look at it and think “gee she must be Austrian”. Drug references and genitals are not allowed in the naming policy.
