7970 flickering
Are you using beta drivers? I have absolutely no issues with this game and I’m not using beta drivers.
I have tested a lot of drivers. Currently I’m using 13.12.
Do you also have 7970, but oc version?
Same problem here on my 280×. DO you have your browser open in the background when you play? If so try disabling hardware acceleration or close your browser when you play the game and see if that helps. This may be a driver problem causing a conflict between 2d and 3d clock of the cards.
I use two 7970s, I always have my browser open, I’m using 13.4 driver pretty sure, using my game with steam, no problems.
I should also add sorry for the huge delay, that my two 7970s are overclocked to 1070 core and 1525 RAM

Turning off webrowser not helping.

op try using older drivers, like the version mentioned by Avelos or something prior to 13.10
I tried. No difference.
Both of my 7970s are reference 925 MHz core and 1375 MHz GDDR5

I have the same problem with my 280×. Much of the time, the card runs flawlessly, and I look at the graphics with my mouth open in awe.
However, I have had some severe artifacting—and that’s what the original poster shows. Those aren’t mere flickers. They’re really bad artifacts!
My card is an Asus R9280X-DC2T-3GD5, and one of my questions is whether this problem is a hardware problem (I’m currently testing the card via OCCT) or a software problem.
My system:
Win 8.1
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC
i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz
8 G Corsair Vengeance RAM
ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5
120G SSD (OS + GW2)
1T HD
I’ll post back after I’ve finished my hardware testing.
artifacts usually mean heat issues, or a dying GPU. I’d start with verifying your Temps, then go from there.

SirSquishy I’d like to point out that the R9 variant of 7970 is still new, so that one may be exempt from the dying GPU part. However OP’s i5 3470 and 7970 as well as the first commenter on the video he posted have the same CPU and GPU so maybe there’s some sort of hardware fault.

If its a driver/compatibility issue you see graphical issues. Such as Flickering, size, distortion issues, and as well as graphical Lag.
But doted Pixelation on the screen (Red, Blue, and Green Dots) is memory corruption mainly due to either over heating, bad ram, or dying core on the GPU. Which is why i still suggest the OP, and anyone else having this issue, to check their GPU Temps (my HD7790 was running at 83C before I even noticed it myself…put new TIM and now my peaks are 70c..had i not caught it, I would be having the same issue eventually!).

You raise decent point with checking thermals.
I have not had any problems with my 7970s ever but since they’re reference, I should go through and give them a nice apply of new goodie good thermal compound. They never go higher than 80c on a good day but they’re so close to each other, as close as they can get on my board. But my gaming computer keeps my room nice and warm in winter haha.
